Just like Coco he's going to have bad outings on occasion. What do you want there to be said about him? When he and Coco are blowing games they're in more trouble than I thought. He was fantastic for two months in meaningful situations. He didn't blow a lead tonight.

It's Dusty's fault.

Stubbs 8, Cairo 5, Votto 3, Phillips 4, Bruce 9, Heisey 7, Hanigan 2, Janish 6, Arroyo 1

If any of the other 3 teams ahead of the Reds goes 3 games over .500 the rest of the way the Reds need to go 37-22 to finish 1 game ahead of them.

Hey now, according to VOR those numbers aren't relevant....if the Reds go on a 10 game winning streak it skews the numbers remember?

The fact that they'd have to play .627 baseball has no bearing on their situation.

I'm beyond the point of ever expecting a good lineup out of this team.

They can't even win 3 in a row. They will likely need to run off 10 or so in a row to have a chance.

They freakin' suck. Bronson sucks, Votto sucks, Hanigan sucks, Bruce sucks....Trade Votto to the highest bidder in the off season. We're not going anywhere in the next two years. No need to keep him and let him sign elsewhere and get nothing.

I've seen enough of Arroyo. They need to let Volquez start one more time @ Louisville and get him back up and send Arroyo to long relief. He is nothing but a batting tee and I don't see anything better out of him going forward.

Does this team ever take a starting pitcher deep into counts early? I go to the games and look up in the 3rd and 4th innings and the opposing starters are cruising at 40-50 pitches and the Reds are in the 70-80 range. I guess this is their offensive strategy but it sure doesn't get the other team's starter out early.

Case in point, Arroyo 85 pitches through 5 and Pelphrey cruising at 59 pitches.

I know what you guys are saying but I've never been big on getting deep in pitch counts unless a guy is struggling. If you're looking for a pitch, get it in a location that you are looking for, what's wrong with swinging at it? Even if it's the 1st or 2nd pitch in the AB?

On the flip side, being fooled and swinging with less than 2 strikes is unacceptable.
