Really hate to hear about his injury, I also had a son a senior miss his year due to an injury. Still bothers me when I discuss it. Hope he finds some peace with it.

 

I feel ya AL I had my fair share in high school and it still ticks me off to think about it, lost opportunities and bad luck, but at the same time I think it made me a stronger person in the end. Made me realize that nothing could stop me from doing what I wanted, it's weird, kinda cliche but in a genuine sense injuries can in fact build character. As for Turney and his injury I wish the young man a speedy recovery and hope that he can strap on the pads again some day if he chooses to.

I'm not seeing Trinity going all out to win this scrimmage. They alreay have 2 starters out. Sugg (db) for the year and Noe (wr) for a few more weeks. No reason at all to risk more injuries when they have the games that count on the horizon. I'm sure this comment will be spun as "making excuses"... whatever, just my opinion which I am entitled to.

 

Not an excuse at all, but if a national ranking do mean any thing to the program then I think they would do every thing in their power to make sure they come out ahead. While it's just a scrimmage I would be SHOCKED to see them not drop in polls if they lost to the Birds.

Alright, Tony Danza and I have both mentioned meeting up with Bluebirds coming to the scrimmage and you Bluebirds have been awfully quiet. What the matter, you Birds too good for us Rocks?

 

In all seriousness, let us know who is coming and we can meet up on either side of the visitors stands or behind them before the scrimmage.

Two great teams, beautiful weather, looking forward to just enjoying the evening and could care less who scores more than the other. I just hope that no one gets injured. In a scrimmage, doesn't the coaches play everyone? If so, how can one determine who is the best team when you want to see what ALL your teamates has to offer. They are both #1 teams and that won't change tomorrow.

Looking forward to it. Neither team should care who wins the game, as it will probably be the best in state team either faces all year. Really valuable to be able to learn so much in a "game" that doesn't affect the actual season.

 

Can't wait to see the Rocks try to defend Towles and his ability to scramble and run. Also, anxious to see how well the Rocks can run the ball having lost Bishop. Finally, looking forward to the adjustments on offense if HHS is able to minimize Quick's involvement with Burns.

I would say that this is probably true. There are no sophs that start..That says a lot considering last years frosh were probably one of the best frosh classes to ever take the field at HHS..

Trinity-Highlands scrimmage tonight

I don’t often post about scrimmages in any sport, but tonight’s football scrimmage at Trinity’s Marshall Stadium is hard to ignore.

 

Trinity and Highlands - tied with a record 20 state championships each - will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for 12 and under and free for preschoolers. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and a large crowd is expected.

 

Trinity is ranked among the Top 25 nationally in four preseason polls. Highlands has won four straight state titles and features senior quarterback Patrick Towles, who has committed to the University of Kentucky.

 

Both teams will open their regular seasons next week, with Trinity traveling to Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy and Highlands traveling to Boyle County.
