Utility...Paul Janish was said by many people to be an everyday SS and its just not true, the days of paying guys and having them take up a roster spot for a glove is about over...Janish will never play for.another MLB team after the Reds...Nobody will give him a contract just for his overrated glove, Castro actually had a legit.glove it wasn't all hype...Castro didn't tear it up with the bat but he wasn't softj at the dish either he hit .230 in his career in over 2500 at bats, give softj that many at bats he is below the mendoza line, Janish can't hit with everyday at Bats he would be worthless off the bench...Castro also played a good Third base, softj can't handle the hot corner...Castro started playing at a time when teams valued guys with 1.5 tools, now days your not getting to the Bigs and sticking based on your glove work...Castro had a very good ability to put wood on the ball too which was key to moving runners over, sac flies and hit n runs...He can bunt as well...Castro always showed very good contact rates with very few strikeouts based on his amount of at bats which is what you want from a pinch hitter...Do you honestly think another team would pay Janish to sit on their bench year in and year out?

I know and I have a feeling soft j will never end that high if he reaches the 2500 at bat plateau which he wont...Anyways for everyone monos de oro and soft j both stink to put it nicely so it doesn't matter who Janish is similar to I feel sorry for the player being used as his measuring stick...My 2 cents was Cozart will can come up here and add to the team more wins through his speed and improved stick and Cozart will be a. 270-.280 hitter with 20-30 Hr power before all is said and done...I hope he gets more than just a Sep cup of coffee so that he is that much better to start next season...

The Reds have obviously never thought so, either, since they brought in veterans like Cabrera and Renteria after he reached the majors. Janish will never play for.another MLB team after the Reds...Nobody will give him a contract just for his overrated glove I guess we'll have to save this statement. Janish's glove is pretty solid ... it has to be or he wouldn't be in the majors. No one is going to sign him to a long-term deal, but as long as he can play good defense at shortstop, he'll be able to find a team that's willing to let him earn a living. That doesn't matter with time many guys major league numbers become better than their minor numbers...Year after year players improve Cozart is now a .330 hitter this year...Being placed in a lineup like the Reds seems to help a guy making the transition as well, also more consistent strike throwing pitchers...Are you telling me that a major league career always is an exact mirror image of minor league numbers...

Tulowitzki spent a little over one year in the minors, hitting 40 doubles and 17 homers in barely over 500 at-bats ... and this at age 21. Cozart is approaching age 26 and is only now starting to put up MLB-worthy numbers. Drop the Tulowitzki comparisons ... you're not even close.
