I really think John McCain could have been elected if he hadn't made that choice. I think history has proven that you can't worry about trying to win votes by your VP choice. It is much better to choose the most competent person you can find and avoid being embarrassed as much as possible. And there is little doubt Palin is one of the most embarrassing VP choices ever.
