I Hope Sarah Palin Runs

And that's fair. I just have a really strong aversion to women who do what I feel is set back the accomplishments of real prospects that may be out there. I'm not adverse to a conservative, Republican, female candidate. Maybe it's just me, but I feel strongly that many women have worked very, VERY hard to overcome stereotypes and bias toward women as leaders. You want a candidate I admire and would give great consideration in electing? Try Condaleeza Rice. Give me something with substance, because just because a woman is pretty, can hunt like a man and "roughed it" in Alaska doesn't mean squat to me. I want what comes out of her mouth to reflect the substance in the grey matter between her ears.

Hate, no. Amusement bordering on incredulity most every time she opens her mouth, absolutely. Disbelief that a chunk of the American voting public is serious about this intellectual lightweight as a POTUS candidate, absolutely again.

PS - We have a whole 'nother thread on the Weiner the world awaited.

The only mental ability that Obama has is that he reads well. Other than that the man has no knowledge of business or what it is like making a living outside of his elite circle.

Palin may not be the most intellectual person, who might be running for President, but she does has values that many want to see out of their leaders.

Many of us are tired of the so-called elite running this country. Bring on a Truman, an Eisenhower or a Reagan. Guys who grew up with mid-west values that many are looking for today.

Values that Weiner does not have.

^ Fair enough.

Give me a candidate who can articulate a cogent thought; and who has the sense to admit when s/he is wrong.

I disagree with your assessment of Obama's mental abilities. I think you're shortchanging him in the most egregious way possible. I can understand you disagreeing with him regarding his policies, and even his business acumen. But he's not at all a mental lightweight.

Palin is actually anti-intellectual, which I think is actually her biggest detriment. I can understand the elitist argument, but surely we don't want a mental lightweight representing our company, in charge of international diplomacy, national economics and our national security? She has none of the skills required to hold her own on the world stage as our leader.

And I'm trying to appreciate the values you mention that she has. She's remained married and she chose to have her mentally challenged child rather than an abortion. I find those admirable, but not exceptionally or unusually so. Other than those two, what are the values you see that you want to see in our leaders?

Some will remember a bit by Chris Rock who makes fun of people from his neighborhood dissing "being smart and reading." That's why I think of when I hear Mrs. Palin speak.

Quitting before the end of the term?

I think the same thing when I hear Obama speak... Especially when he is talking about things he knows nothing about... He tries to sound smart but it's totally hilarious at times...

Do you think you are smarter than :

A. President Obama

B. Sarah Palin

I know I am smarter than Obama on things like how to run a business and simple things like balancing a budget and how to put people to work.. I'm sure he is ahead of me on a few things.. So I'll say it's a draw... Palin on the other hand,,,,well she has her moments too. What about you ? Are you smarter or dumber than Obama and Palin?

Smarter than Palin without question.

And before you make a big embarrassing jump I do NOT assume the same about President Bush.

You will excuse my reluctance to believe you are smarter than the Harvard grad when it comes to economics on a world-wide scale. You proved that with "simple things like balancing a budget." People that act like it's keeping a checkbook are silly, ignorant, and/or naive.

I have seen nothing of anyone on here including me that makes me think they can be the POTUS. It's simple to be the armchair qb. We are ALL good at that.

Did Obama study economics at Harvard?? Most of the smartest in the field disagree with his economic policies... Again, are you smarter than Obama?

What do you feel are no-fail economic policies? What do feel you could implement that would be guaranteed to 1) have bi-partisan support and 2) fix the economic issues immediately?

Repeal ObamaCare.. Drill NOW.(thousands of quick jobs). Stop the back door cap and trade. Thousands of more jobs will be lost as new EPA regulations are enacted.. Lay off the attacks on the coal industries.. Remove the myriad of rules and regulations that has been placed on small business.. Some good places to start..

And which of those do you feel would enjoy unfettered bi-partisan support?

I see nothing to make me think I am smarter than President Obama.
