June 8, 201115 yr I've come to realize that a lot of posters on this site, especially the liberal/left ones, give Palin the same treatment they claim many from the other side give President Obama. No matter what she does, they'll always find a way to spin it or bash her for it. Pot meet Kettle? :idunno:
June 8, 201115 yr Very true. And had she said....."Revere is famous for warning Americans that the British were coming but I am going to tell you what happened after he got caught by the British......" then she wouldn't be undergoing all of this scrutiny for misspeaking again. Instead she hid and clammed up until some historians claimed her to be kind of right and then she said "see, I was right...." As I have stated more than once, I am not a Palin fan or consider her a viable candidate... Just can't understand the left's fascination with her... Does anyone have any iron clad evidence that she was wrong ? And she DID defend her statement BEFORE the historians backed her account.. You got a link proving otherwise?
June 8, 201115 yr Kind of. I initially responded to the post that claimed Obama was out of touch with the inner city. My string of replies summarize that I am quite certain Palin is more out of touch with inner city blacks than Obama and then I explained why I feel this way. Do you believe Obama is more out of touch with inner city blacks than Palin? If so, please explain. Not at all. Just as I feel President Obama is much more out of touch with those that "cling to their guns and religion" than Palin. He's much more out of touch with the "wilderness" types as well.
June 8, 201115 yr Not at all. Just as I feel President Obama is much more out of touch with those that "cling to their guns and religion" than Palin. He's much more out of touch with the "wilderness" types as well.Agreed, Heck, he's out of touch with a lot of people.

I too am no fan and cannot take her seriously. However, anyone who can cause that much exasperation on the left is ok by me.

I'll give most politicians the benefit of the doubt until they prove my suspicions right but how anyone can defend Sarah Palin is beyond me. If not for Sarah Palin then John McCain very well could have solved the economic crisis by now. If not for Sarah Palin the Tea Party would likely be a more formidable threat next year. She gives good sound bites and is great for SNL. She quit being the governor of Alaska. She is easy on the eyes is normally the best compliment you can get about Sarah Palin from BOTH parties. Is none of this true? She completely and totally messed up the Paul Revere story and like Weiner didn't want to admit it at first. Does she strike you as a diverse human being? Not me. She strikes me as the kind of woman who would clutch her purse if I stepped on the elevator with her or lock her car doors when I walk by her car at Walmart. If that makes me a hypocrite so be it. None of the Obama bashers are going to wake up one day and give him a chance just like I will never wake up and give Sarah Palin a chance so like the saying goes........ It is what it is.

He's much more out of touch with the "wilderness" types as well. He very well may be. I simply said he'd be more comfortable around his polar opposites than she would be around her polar opposites.
June 8, 201115 yr ^So you're saying you think she's racist? What has she ever done to make one think that? (I'm seriously asking because I can't think of anything, but I don't pay her much attention) Is it simply because she hasn't been around blacks a lot?
June 8, 201115 yr I too am no fan and cannot take her seriously. However, anyone who can cause that much exasperation on the left is ok by me. The left likes her. We want her to win. She helps our cause. It is the Sarah Palin spin that exasperated me.

No matter what she does, they'll always find a way to spin it or bash her for it. Pot meet Kettle? :idunno: I've given you some solid examples why I don't feel she's a credible candidate for POTUS. For those that argue the President's policies, I feel those are fair and reasonable criticism. For those who argue points such as his intelligence or his religion or his place of birth, not so much. I provided solid evidence of her policies as governor. I disagree with her, mostly because on social issues I am left-leaning. I certainly feel that's as reasonable as those who criticize President Obama for many of his policies because they are more right-leaning than I.
June 8, 201115 yr ^So you're saying you think she's racist? What has she ever done to make one think that? (I'm seriously asking because I can't think of anything, but I don't pay her much attention) Is it simply because she hasn't been around blacks a lot? Racist? No. Uncomfortable? Certainly. I expect politcians to be comfortable around all walks of life. She doesn't strike me as a person comfortable around all walks of life. Do I know this for certain? Of course not. It's just a feeling I have about her. I could be completely wrong and for one of the few times in my life I hope I am. I just have a sense of her uneasiness and awkwardness around average black Americans.

(I'm seriously asking because I can't think of anything, but I don't pay her much attention) Is it simply because she hasn't been around blacks a lot? Well, I'm not here to say she's racist, but one can certainly wonder, given her aversion to addressing or even acknowledging the issues that face Native Americans in Alaska while she was governor.

Does anyone have any iron clad evidence that she was wrong ? And she DID defend her statement BEFORE the historians backed her account.. You got a link proving otherwise? I thought the history books said she was wrong until the historians said that was technically right. That's my link. But like I said.....I hope they don't ask her about the Civil War.
June 8, 201115 yr According to more than several historians and Revere's own writings, it turns out that Palin WAS correct in her description of the event.. Maybe she has read a book or two in her life.. Could you document these please? Many times on this thread a few have stated thusly but not documented them. As I posted somewhere back in this thread she was wrong on many accounts in her story and it was obvious she didn't grasp it right after the tour when she was asked the questions. Just found some of those thanks. I'll respond in a little bit.
