I Hope Sarah Palin Runs

Featured Replies

According to more than several historians and Revere's own writings, it turns out that Palin WAS correct in her description of the event.. :p Maybe she has read a book or two in her life..

Non Tea Party/Conservative links please. We are still waiting from when Hatz asked for the names of these historians a day or two ago so we can see their historian credentials. It is well known that Tea Party members have changed Paul Revere's wiki page to fall in line with Sarah Palin's reversal of American History.

I sure hope no one asks her about the Civil War. I'd hate to find out the South won and that I should still be a slave.

Obama's intelligence lies not in his degree. Those Ivy League schools hand out passing grades just to keep those monies flowing. Obama does not know anything of what an average American goes through, whether they live in the suburbs or the inner city. I believe he has lead a life where is has had it paved for him. Obama's average intelligence shows up when he speaks without the teleprompter.

Agree with your first comment.

Somewhat agree & somewhat disagree with the second. I think of most politicians at that level of name recognition, she has a better understanding than the vast majority.

What is the average American? I consider myself an average American but I have a hard time believing she could handle blacks in inner city Danville let alone Chicago. I would think that a vast majority of politicians could handle the inner city blacks in Danville and Chicago. I am quite certain Obama can. I'd be shocked if Palin was comfortable talking to me. She just doesn't give me the 'I can be diverse even if I have to fake it for votes' vibe. Are there even black people in Alaska for her to practice on other than Carlos Boozer and Trajan Langdon's families?

And you know this about Ivy League schools ... how?

Oh yes ... a mixed-race baby born in America in the early 1960s, with one parent that is a Muslim from east Africa, has had a life where everything has been paved for him. Please ...

Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”

In fact, Revere’s own account of the ride in a 1798 letter seems to back up Palin’s claim. Revere describes how after his capture by British officers, he warned them “there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.” http://bostonherald.com.nyud.net/news/us_politics/view.bg?articleid=1343353

I'm not refuting the observations you make about Palin & the inner city blacks. In fact, I probably agree with your assessment. But do you think Obama would feel comfortable talking to my white, redneck neighbor farmer who raises five acres of tobacco, has several head of cattle, & spends a great majority of his work day on a tractor or in a barn?

And to those that cling to their guns and bible??

Absolutely. I am quite sure he spoke to many people just like this on the campaign trail. Those were the people he needed to convince to vote for him. I am sure he has spoken with more of your neighbors than Palin has spoken to inner city blacks. I am thinking she avoids the inner cities all together.

You can't be that naive to think that Palin hasn't spoken to inner city kids. Does she excel at it? Most likely not, but heck, I wouldn't be very good at it either.

I am not talking inner city kids. I am talking about inner city adult blacks in Danville that can vote. I don't see her being able to properly handle herself in that situation let alone talking to inner city adult blacks in Chicago. I think she would freak out amongst inner city black adults in Danville.

So you're making the claim she's never talked to inner city adult blacks? Just want to make sure I'm understanding properly.

I would assume he means she didn't come from a wealthy family, didn't come from a prestigious family, rather from a working class family. :idunno:

While governor of Alaska, Ms.Palin was slow to address legislation that would benefit much of her constituency...Native Americans. She fought fishing and gaming for substinance, fought tribal approval by the state (although Federal Law gives them the right), would not sit down with Native Americans, did not visit Native American villages to see the plight they're facing....

From what I've discovered, she's not even in tune with the plight of her former constituency. I'm skeptical that she appreciates or has any understanding of inner-city issues on the mainland, or the plight of mainland farmers. She talks a good game, gives it the ole "you betcha" rhetoric. But actions speak louder than words, to me that is.

Very true. And had she said....."Revere is famous for warning Americans that the British were coming but I am going to tell you what happened after he got caught by the British......" then she wouldn't be undergoing all of this scrutiny for misspeaking again. Instead she hid and clammed up until some historians claimed her to be kind of right and then she said "see, I was right...."

So you're making the claim she's never talked to inner city adult blacks? Just want to make sure I'm understanding properly.

Kind of. I initially responded to the post that claimed Obama was out of touch with the inner city. My string of replies summarize that I am quite certain Palin is more out of touch with inner city blacks than Obama and then I explained why I feel this way. Do you believe Obama is more out of touch with inner city blacks than Palin? If so, please explain.
