Covington Catholic has New Coach

Featured Replies

Should we assume he will be teaching at CCH?

It looks like he was listed in the faculty on the St. Anthony website but it does not say for certain that he teaches and what he teaches. I am with you and assume that he will teach.

I thought I read he was the Dean of Discipline??? CCH has one of those already.

I would assume that he would.

Are there openings in the business dept?

Not sure. But I could see him being an Econ teacher.

Sounds like a great hire. Let's hope for a quick return to Rupp. Coach Ruthsatz has big shoes to fill.

Didnt it say he is responsible for the financial aspects of his company that has 700 customers? Why would he need to take on any role at CCH outside of hoops coach?

I noticed he has his MBA from ND and a former ND player has a son on CovCath's roster. hmmmmmmm

Traditionally, CCH has had it's coach be a teacher. I can't think of any 9th region boys head coach who is not in the school.

I can think of two. Both in Northern Campbell Co.

4 actually that i know. Bellevue, Dayton,Highlands and Brossart.

Clyde said 9th Region and I omitted Bellevue. The revolving door coaching carousel keeps the head spinning.

Wow very nice...Could he build Cov Cath into a sort of prep school almost bringing in the best catholic school kids from NKY year in year out...I know with that resume as a parent I would send my kid to play for him, he definitely knows what it takes to get his players to the highest level of college basketball...

Or from other places.....You were the one that said Prep school right. It would only be a short travel for Calipari as well.

Could this type of coach bring something to this area that we have never seen before. "Prep School" isnt that like a program that draws from all over the USA? Could this possibly be the direction that CovCath is headed? This all sounds like some very exciting times in Park Hills and I wish them the best.

The fact that he's from a prep school is irrelevant to how it will go at CCH.

Nothing is going to change how it's been over the last 10 to 20 years. If CCH does well you might get a few more kids wanting to come there.

This "prep school" talk is silly.
