May 11, 201115 yr For me this is an easy choice for which one I enjoyed more. It would definitely be the 2011 team for sure. However I wonder how other UK fans feel about that? Even though the 2011 team got us back to the final four, it has seemed like just judging by some comments that people would say the 2010 team. The 2010 team was fun to watch for sure, and they got UK going again. However in the end they didn't get us that final four. Their result ended up the same as it was 5 years before that in 2005, then 2003, and 1999. So for me this year's team was definitely the team I enjoyed more out of the two, because they got us that final four we all have been wanting since 1998.
May 11, 201115 yr They were different teams and I enjoyed them both in different ways. I can't say which I liked better because I like them both a lot. Both of Cal's teams have played hard and been fun to watch. I'll like all of them if they keep that up.
May 11, 201115 yr 2010 team was definitely more fun to watch. Knight was probably my favorite player of the last 2 years followed by Wall and Jorts. It's tough to say which one I liked more because as far as styles of play and type of players playing, it was apples and oranges.
May 11, 201115 yr Tough question. I love 2010 because those guys put us back on the map, and it was Cal's first year. Had a lot of swagger and a lot of highlights to go with it. This season they showed way more heart and that gets a lot of bonus points in my book. Many fans had them wrote off after a few of those in conference road losses but these guys fought hard until the last buzzer, even shooting a desperation three that went in as the season ended. Just based on heart and desire alone, not to mention the climax of all the talent hitting their peak last year in the tourney I would have to go with the 2010-2011 guys in a close one. If not for their tourney run though and getting to experience those games it would have easily been 2009-2010.
May 12, 201115 yr 2011. Reason being they accomplished more with less. How can you not love that ?I enjoyed watching the 2011 team much more than 2010 team.
May 12, 201115 yr 2010 was way more fun to watch. 2011 was more of a fundamental team and made the 4 final 4 though. More fun to watch is easily 2010 though.
May 12, 201115 yr Author For me it is 2011, while 2010 was fun. I don't know how you can have more fun watching a team go to the final four. Seeing this team come together as the year went on, getting revenge on basically every team that beat them including WVU from the year before. Seeing Jorts become the player he was, beating the #1 team in the tournament, and then beating UNC to get back to the final four. I don't see how it gets any more fun than that. 2010 was fun because they brought UK back after 4 bad seasons, but they only brought us back to the elite 8. Which was something that people made it clear when Tubby was here was not good enough. So just everything put together the 2011 gets the nod from me.
May 12, 201115 yr For my money, it's 2010. Hard to say that considering 2011 went to that all-elusive Final Four, but Wall, Cuz, & company were thrilling to watch at times. I compare this two-year run to 1992-93. The '92 team (Unforgettables) will be remembered more--partly because of the Duke game, partly because there were three Kentucky boys who were seniors, & partly because they helped revitalize the program. They put us back on the map. The '93 team went further (Mashburn, Ford, Dale Brown) by making the Final Four, but the previous team will be more remembered. Likewise, UK 2011 went further but I think 2010 gets remembered more for rejuvenating the program, ala the '92 team. Plus, that team had the school's only ever #1 NBA pick & it also boasted unique personalities.
May 12, 201115 yr I think it's a vague question. If you put accomplishments aside, and just base it off the teams then it's 2010 by far. They were a better team to watch than this years team. 2011 if you base it on who made it further and what not.
May 12, 201115 yr 2010. Without UK's run in the FF this wouldn't even be a question, I don't think. UK was frustratingly inconsistent this year.
May 12, 201115 yr 2010. Without UK's run in the FF this wouldn't even be a question, I don't think. UK was frustratingly inconsistent this year. They weren't very fun to watch, actually they were nerve racking to watch.
May 12, 201115 yr 2010....The reason I say this is because the few years before Cal it was awful..The 2010 players were more exciting to watch with their individual skill sets. JMO
May 12, 201115 yr I absolutely loved both teams and loved what they did for the program. It's because of how great a coach, recruiter, and ambassador Calipari is that we can have these discussions. I would pick the 2011 team. While I love what the 2010 team did for our program and what they brought to the table, I love shooters. I love when teams knock down three's and play intense defense and that is what we got from the 2011 team. It's just the style of ball I prefer.
