Thanks, I'll let her know. Do you up the difficulty level on the swim for having to dodge gators?
Tell her she doesn't have to be faster than the gators, only faster then the person swimming next to her.

Good point.

Heading out this afternoon for Florida to take on the Ironman challenge. Whether I am able to complete it or not, this whole experience the past year has been amazing. You never realize what you have in yourself until you set your mind out to accomplish a task. If you would have told me a few years ago I would spend an entire year getting up at 4:50 a.m. 3-5 days a week then working out again a lot of those same days I would have said you are crazy. In the past year I would say I have swam near 150 miles, between spinning and biking near 2000 miles, and run in excess of 1000 miles. I would normally split between the disciplines 11-14 hours per week. This does not include any of the core, yoga, stretching, of limited strength training I did through the year. Sad part is my training is more considered on the minimal side  These events are all about the journey to get there. The race itself is more of just the reward.

So, pray for calm waters and limited wind for me :D

I love working out, it facinates me. I can watch people do it all the time.

Good luck man and I hope the ocean is as calm as possible for you. Can you follow along your progress as the day goes by as you could with Louisville?

Define breaking the bank.

I don't know what it is like in the panhandle, but it's been beautiful here the last couple of days, high today was 80, lows have been in the upper 50s. Light winds. According to the news last night, the Gulf water temperature is 75.

What you are doing, I can only dream about. That is absolutely amazing. Good luck to you.

Try going to runningwharehouse.com

That is where I bought a pair of Asics DS-Trainers for $69 (free shipping and no sales tax) Go through the runblogger website and get another 10% off.

I've purchased all my running clothes, gloves, shoes, gps watch, and running hats from them.

I'll second what swamprat said. Good luck!

There's a place in Newport, Bob Ronker's Running Spot. I'm guessing it may be pricey. I have always held the belief that you are only as good as your shoes. I don't skimp when it comes to my footware.
