March 12, 201115 yr I thought that this one was one of the best basketball games that I have watched this season. Both teams are very well coached, the two best coaches in the Big East imo. Adjustments made by Pitino were the difference. UL's defense, Pitino going to the press to speed the game up and make it more difficult for ND to run their half court sets won this game for UL. Understatement of the year--Knowles is clutch. UL defense making Hansbrough rush things.Especially Hansbrough taking a couple of bad shots down the stretch along with him missing two ft's were key. Great basketball game, congrats to the bgp/U.L. fans.
March 12, 201115 yr There's no way you couldnt love this team... A great win for the Cards. I think they get a #2 seed if they win tonight. People can say what they want about Pitino, and he's had a tough year, but the man can still flat out coach. He's still one of the best, and I love watching his teams play.
March 12, 201115 yr Big comeback and win for UL. Pitino was extremely lucky he didn't get a T last night. He deserved it actually. Not many coaches would have gotten away with that language and the attitude he got with the ref. I caught myself laughing though, it was entertaining.
March 12, 201115 yr Louisville radio station WKRD plays excerpts of Pitino press conferences. His accent turns decidedly more New Yorkish during the Big East Tournament IMO. He's probably playing the local media. I believe he has done a remarkable job this year but he always gives credit to the unselfish players he has this season.
