We don't need to be totally succesful running, just enough to keep your linebackers honest, and not allow for your ends "sell out" on their stunts.

I think that Beatty has to have learned his lesson from the first game, and Trinity's running game has really progressed since then, too. I think that stopping the run is the bigger question.

From an obvious outsider POV, I think St. X will win, but it will be much closer than the previous meeting. Blowouts are very, very rare in this series, so its hard to imagine it happening twice in one season.

X - 28

T - 17

No doubt HC would have to have been the favorite! They would have played better against Trinity too, but for the turnovers!

IMO John Hardin and Male were the best public school teams in 4A this year. Bowling Green and Lex Cath both could of given them a run for their money.

I think it comes down to whether Trinity has the ability to stop the run, and their commitment to running the ball when they have it, even if they go down a score or two early.

I agree completely. Had Trinity not abandoned the run earlier in the year (and last year) they could have averted, or at least lessened, the wide margins of defeat.

They've got to keep trying to run the ball some, even if X stones them early.

It's all about matchups. I think that Male could have beaten X in a rematch, just like Manual would fare better against JH than Male.

A little birdie told me we may see some of this...

 Maybe once or twice...

^ and don't forget the 45 Veer.

The beating X laid down on Trinity was remarkable. X dominated every facet of that game. For the sake of everyone brave enough to venture out to the game Friday, I hope Trinity comes to play. However, for Trinity to make such a turnaround and actually win this game would be very surprising.

It seems to me that Trinity has played a very weak schedule this season, aside from X, Henry Clay, and their early trip to Nashville. X, on the other hand, is very battle-tested and has won several close games, which is to their advantage.

That being said, I think X's offensive AND defensive lines are too much for Trinity. X should win by at least 2 TD's, but likely more than that.

No respect for your friends over at Manual?

It would be 3 times in 2 seasons.... :flame:

I see a close game with 1-2 drives determining the games outcome

Is X worn out from their tough road to the final? Does T see the ring at the end of the tunnel? This will be a good hard fought game with both teams laying it out to the final second. After watching T against HC, X will have to be worried about another RB (Petrino). Nick ran the ball as good as our other RB's. Game will come down to a final minute field goal kicked by T, so I'm predicting the Rocks by 1-3 points. GO ROCKS>>>>TAKE STATE>>>>>>

Did you not see the final score of the game against Warren Central...62-12. That's a 50 pt. win against a state semifinalist; no way are these Tigers worn down. Coach Glaser even said that he scheduled the tough competition so his team would be used to it come playoff time. It seems to have paid off.

Tigers are very healthy and ready to go.

That will be the biggest key if the Rockheads want a chance to win. Another key would be for them to shut down the X running backs and/or force X to turn the ball over.

Should be a great game!

Will this, and all the games this weekend, be televised like previous years?

I know Trinity has improved tremendously since the end of September, but don’t forget how one sided that game was. That X / T game was just about as one sided as the Trinity win over BC. Trinity got most of their yardage and all of their points against the 2nd & 3rd team D. That score could have easily been 60 to 0 if the starters stayed in the game.

I agree that it will be a great rematch but I would think the Tigers will be at least a 10 point favorite. You don’t make up 40+ points with the return of one or two injured players. It should be another classic on Friday.

I just hope we can keep it close.
