I noticed in the regular season game Nick had trouble seeing open recievers from the pocket over the taller X defenders.. Will the T coaches put more roll-out type pass plays in the game plan this week?? Maybe some pass or run option plays to give him better down field vision...

I don't think that we will see much more roll, but more of a zone blocking scheme that will allow lanes for the passes to go through. I think, that one of the keys is how we respond to 3rd downs, in the first game, we did very poorly on third down, and of course we know the ending.

He is as good as it gets. If he was 6-3, everybody in NCAA be after him.

I think he is as good as Brohm was, From know to his first game this year, he has gotten better with each start. Brohm started as a Sophmore, this is Petrino first year starting as a junior. I say he's UL bound and will play.

Petrino is not as good as Brohm. Being an X fan....I would much rather play a Petrino team than a Brohm team. Brohm was and is outstanding...and that was a nation-wide perception. SI cover...#1 rated QB...etc. I also believe he was undefeated against my beloved Tigers....Man am I glad he is at UL!......Hopefully none of those Brohms will pro-create any more boys....Let them dominate girls athletics for a while.

Yes, young Brady Brohm, will be ready to suit up for the Rocks around 2018-2019.....

 

Man that seems so far, but I remember when Jeff played his last game in 1988, they said just wait for Brian in 2001...and that seemed so far too.

I also believe he was undefeated against my beloved Tigers....

X can and will counter this move by sending their DE on stunts just as they are known to do against the Rockheads.

 

In order for T to have major success passing the ball they will have to establish the running game, which is a very tough task against this Tiger D.

 

Does anyone have any input on how X will scheme the Rockhead O and vice versa? What "dark horse" player(s) for each team will impact the game? What about coaching? I know Coach Bean has been very successful in championship games. While he was DC at X he went 4-1 in championship games with 3 shutouts.

Trinity will be hardpressed to get through St. X's defense, but I see them making X sweat a little. I still say X will win, not sure of the margin. If Trinity wins I will be surprised. But to all my T fan friends, if Trinity wins, I'll be very happy for you :lol:

While Trinity has a lot of points to make up for ...from last game.....

They have made significant adjustments

They have a very good Coaching Staff

They have quality players

They have passion.

 

X has the same qualities....will be a coaching duel and I believe the game will rely on the play of the lineman. I hoping Trinity's adjustments aren't enough to get it done. Go Tigers!

Where is the bulk at Trinity?

 

The last couple of years, Trinity has been very undersized; I believe size is overrated in football, but some would help to match up to the enormity of the Tigers.

Twice in the last 11 years Trinity football teams have lost 4 games in a row and comeback to win the state championship. This years Rocks have already proven that they can overcome adversity. I believe the Tigers have an outstanding team this year but the Rocks are practically never real underdogs, they WILL love the role. Trinity 24-17.

BTW the Rocks have been in 5 of the last 6 4A title games.

Taking a page from the Ohio state Division 1 playoffs, where McKinley beat Massillon by about 30 during the regular season and then Massillon repaid the favor in the playoffs, I look for this to be an absolute war for at least 48 minutes and the team with the ball last just might be crowned champion.
