How do you not? You have been with these people 24/7 for over a month. You see someone that you think you can trust that back stabs you. How is it humanly possible to just shrug that off? I really agree with what Grant said, that some people think they can make all the hurtful things they said or did down as "playing the game" but eventually there has to be a line. My dislike for Rob is no secret, I haven't liked him since he first played the game. He played the best strategic game but I still think he's a slime ball.

I understand what you're saying BUT what was the purpose of being such a jerk in the confessionals? How many times did he call people idiots? I have a feeling that is what Grant had issues with. Rob said they were fine until after the 3rd episode aired. You have to admit that Rob was very insulting, arrogant and condescending in the confessionals. What did that have to do with playing the game. IMVHO he went over the line and made the game personal doing that.

I would not be surprised if one of the returning players is David. Although I am not sure if he would pull in viewers. You probably need to think of players who were popular players and would help the ratings.

My thoughts on last night...

 

So glad Rob won. He deserved it and David put it best with his speech (which didn't surprise me at all) followed by Jeff Probst saying that it was probably the best played game ever on Survivor. Rob is a social mastermind, as well as very strong in the challenges, and not lazy around camp. A deadly combination, which is proved all season. Considering the reputation he had coming into the season, just shows even more how truly strong his all-around game is. I know All Tell and several others have a strong dislike for him, but I think I'd say after he won the addition 100K, that you are in the minority.

 

I give Phillip credit. He stuck to who he is during the final tribal council. He's a special guy and would have to see him be one of the returning players. Loved his answer to Ralph haha! And he really is a secret agent!

 

I give Natalie credit for making it to the finals. Granted she was a sheep thrown to the wolves, but what other choice did she have. Her strategy was to latch onto a strong player and that is what she did. For a girl who had never been camping before, I give her credit. She was extremely loyal to Rob, which I think is admirable and Julie is just salty. I don't have a whole lot of respect for her anymore.

 

I hope they do throw Russell's number away. I like him...but his time has come and gone.

No. I don't think anyone on those shows represent anyone more than themselves, although people always try and turn it into that stuff.

 

P.S. Anyone think she was cuter when she was on the island?

I can understand that. I can also understand Rob's ability to separate the game from personal life. Some people can do it. Some can't. Me personally, I wouldn't play the game to win friends and I would not consider anyone on the island my friend during game time. I think getting the two confused is how you get blindsided and end up on the jury. I think Rob could care less if any of them are his friends after the fact. Will he feel a little guilty for his honest assessments during the game? Maybe. But he now has 1.1 million reasons to let it go and take care of his family.

I would not be surprised if Philip comes back! He is so annoyingly freaky weird, but also entertaining..even if you hated him! This is a television, we watch it for the entertainment....and he was entertaining!

Its easy for Rob to have played the best game. His tribe was so star-struck that he didnt have to do much. The girls did everything he wanted. Did you notice a couple of episodes back, when they showed one of the girls actually trimming his beard while he laid back. That tribe was clueless.

First his family was already pretty OK between his 3 previous appearances on Survivor (2 of which I'm sure he was paid for), His and Amber's appearance on Amazing Race and Amber's win in All-Stars plus any appearance fees he and Amber collect.

 

I have no problem with the way he played the game, that's Survivor. I have a real problem with the way he acted in confessionals. What was the purpose of running people down in such a public fashion? It didn't have any effect on the outcome of the game. I think that Rob is a shallow human being and I can't stand him. Maybe I'm in the minority but so be it. I hope he's happy with his money. I like to think that even for a million dollars I could at least maintain some dignity and respect for opponents. How would you feel as an athlete if someone talked trash to you throughout a game then said less then flattering things about you to the media afterwards?

 

I guess that's where athletics have gone (and why I am not much of a follower of professional and big time college sports) and I think it's sad, especially when there are people that are so willing to excuse boorish behavior (Ochocinco, TO, etc.) because they are good at a game.

And here comes the bitterness. Lost all respect for Julie.

 

I feel the same way. Sour Grapes on Julie's end if you ask me. With Julie's group throwing the challenge to get Russell out was the start of her and her tribes down fall. Before that mistake they had control of the game and Rob's team on the ropes.
