I think Rob made the right move ... since he has the hidden immunity idol. With the hidden idol, he has insurance if he thinks the girls are going to turn on him. I believe he is playing the end game. Who would you rather be sitting in the final three with - Phillip and Natalie or Phillip and Grant? Grant could definitely pull votes. If the final 3 is Rob, Phillip and Natalie and Rob doesn't win, they should just end the franchise right there.

 

As to Redemption Island, carrying it to the end is growing on me. One of my biggest pet peeves about Survivor is the strongest players so often get voted out because they are seen as threats. Just like Grant tonight. With RI going all the way to the end, it gives a strong player a better chance to win. The one problem with RI going to the end is a player like Matt who truly hasn't been a part of game could win and he doesn't deserve it despite all the wins on RI.

I honestly hope the girls turn on Rob at this point. Wrong move as I don't think Grant pulls votes against him. Now Rob has to more than likely beat the RI returnee by himself. Playing the end game would have been to keep the core as strong as possible. If someone besides Andrea on RI right now gets into the final three I believe they win.

 

Plus Rob had to feel very confident that Grant wouldn't ever turn on him. I definitely think he has to realize that there is a possibility of the girls doing just that.

There is nothing that anyone can do in the next vote to get Rob out. I am sure he feels he will win immunity at the next challenge versus the three left with him. And if he doesn't, he plays the idol. The only risk to him at the next vote is if he doesn't win immunity, gets cocky and doesn't play the idol.

Don't they usually have a limit to how late into the game the immunity idol can be used? If the four at Redemption Island get reduced to one in a single contest and the following Tribal Council is the last you can use an immunity idol, then it would be crazy not to use it even if you're confident you're going to stay. If its the last time it could be used, what's the harm in using it then? Nothing.

It is usually when there are five players left in the tribe, which would have been last night, but with Redemption Island, that throws things off a little.

 

My prediction is they will have one final challenge on Redemption Island, the winner goes back to the tribe, which will give them five members again. Then the next tribal council will be the last chance Rob can play it.

I hated the move by Rob because I like Grant, however I have to disagree with you and think that it was his best option. I feel like Grant would have definitely taken votes away from Rob. People who are bitter about everything will more than likely vote for Grant over Rob because they are ticked at Rob for orchestrating it all. Plus with Rob still holding onto the hidden immunity idol (how is beyond me) he has set himself up very nice. Plus, they didn't show this on the show at all, but Rob probably doesn't mind sending Grant to Redemption Island to hopefully knock off the other tribe.

 

I loved Rob saying, "Grant, when you see this, you'll know it wasn't suppose to be like this."

Matt, Ralph, Andrea and now Grant probably won't vote for Rob out of bitterness. If Phillip is next out he won't vote for Rob and who knows what the other jurists will do.

He could simply ask them to tell him one move the others made that was THEIR idea that proves them worthy of winning the million. We'd hear a lot of crickets. Logically I agree with you. Rob has likely played the most masterful game of Survivor ever. It still takes jury votes to win and if the past is precedent then the jury members bitterness may rule out any chance he has to win. IMO, no one besides Rob deserves to win but the person who deserves to win doesn't always win. You don't think the jury members will hold a grudge towards him? Especially knowing his wife has won Survivor already? You telling me if one of the final 3 has a sad sob story that the jury won't award them the money out of sympathy? Seems like it happens all of the time and I could definitely see it happening again. I have quit watching Survivor 3-4 different times because of the wrong people winning. People get all emotional like Grant did and then they get bitter when they are in the jury.

 

Man, I need to get on Survivor. I'd be happy just to make it to the jury.

I'm all for little twists and turns here and there to make the game better and more entertaining, but I feel like that would change it up to much and I would honestly be disappointed.
