But that's part of Survivor. The reality that the people that will decide if you win are the same people that you had a hand in eliminating. And define playing the game the best? That's different from person to person. Some think Russell played the best game in his first appearance but I don't agree. Yes, strategically he outplayed and manipulated everyone but he was also abrasive and bullying towards those who ultimately held his fate in their hands. In my book that's not smart. IMVHO if you are not a physical threat then flying under the radar and latching onto a dominate player is a legitimate strategy that sometimes backfires (ask Krista and Stephanie). That's how I would have to play if I actually played the game becaue I would not be a physical threat.

I don't feel "part of Survivor" is determining who is most deserving financially of the money. Hell, that's probably why Sandra beat Parvati and Russell in All-Stars. How are you going to beat a working mother with a husband serving overseas? It's that crap that bothers me.

 

I'm fine with philosophy differences on what constitutes playing the game the best, but when you make the decision based on factors outside of the game, then that is definitely NOT part of the game. The two factors you stated in your original post are exactly what I'm talking about. Previous experience and financial stability. Those should not be factors in determining who played the best, but they are and that does irritate me.

I think Phillip's pink underwear will go down in my Survivor history as one of the moust haunting things I've ever seen in the game.

If the folks from the other tribe don't vote for Rob to win they are simply hating on a brilliant game played by Rob.

 

If he is lucky enough to make the Final 3. If he has to use the idol earlier than he wants then he is done when they realize he has the idol.

While I agree with you that some of them may be a little bitter. Rob only needs to remind them that it took more than one vote to remove each one of them from the game. A lot of times people want revenge, I feel like this game respects his game and would vote for him versus giving the money to someone who road his coat tails the whole way.

That is a good point. David comes to mind when you say that. Conventional wisdom says respect Rob's game if he makes the Final 3 and vote for him. This game seems to have that vibe. Guess we'll see.

So, you would trust Rob? Especially as Probst pointed out in council in front of everyone, he made a deal with Lex to save Amber at All-Stars, only to backstab Lex the next week. Everybody knows he is a smart player in the game. They cant trust him.

From what I remember Rob is pretty loyal to the people in his alliance that he makes a pact with in the very beginning...until you give him a reason not to trust you and then he ruthlessly cuts you off.
