Here is an angle on the new scheduling I don't think anyone has touched on. Stats/individual records will be "different". I do not see any Trinity passing or rushing records being set, and on the flip side other schools will have the opportunity to put up larger numbers by not having to face Trinity. And here is a question.. Trinity's Lit ranking will be based soley on in state games, right? So they won't have a ranking/score for several weeks into the season.... right?

Here is something scary for you to think about. In the book "when the game stands tall" that details the rise of DeLasalle out in California this is exactly what happened to them. The local teams wouldn't play and they scheduled regional powers became an even bigger monster with the national titles and 15 year winning streak.

Looks like T has joined the GCL south. There schedule resembles a GCL south team even the part where they have to search the region for games . Unlike the GCL south teams though which MUST win these games to make the playoffs ,T can schedule up and not worry about making the playoffs. They need to win these games however to win there mythical national championship. Congradulations on a super schedule and good luck boys.

tcj,, both QBs /two RBs/ and several more kids that played last year. They need to find a kicker. If we cannot get up for this one...Rocks play these teams and by state tourney time they will be tough to handle. I always have believed you play the best and in the end it helps you...SEC West.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a more appropriate screen name OOT. That's the second reference to Shoney's on Fern Valley I've seen, not sure if they're both from you but, whatever, care to let us in on the connection to this thread topic?

 

I know that if I was inclined to "cheat" and do all the illegal things which are attributed to the Rocks - that is certainly where I would go to engage in nefarious acts.

 

Just curious as to how many other schools mail out to Alumni a copy of the KHSAA Rules ??? Anyone ???? Let's hear from you as to which other Schools are proactive ?

I don't consider this thread jacking since Highlands is on Trinity's schedule .

 

Assuming the scrimmage will be in a " real game " format , what does it mean to Trinity if the Birds win or even hang close . The first "game like " situation , for the season , I think anything can happen. I know a scrimmage is only a scrimmage and does not count , but I have a feeling both teams are going to give it all they got. I think both coaches will have their hands full , trying to play it as a scrimmage and not a regular season game. It should be interesting to say the least.

I can't speak in any truely insider way. But I believe it's not so much a choice, as a consequence of our success.

Hoosier, so you are a Highland fan, why are you wasting my time for crying out loud? I went to Iroquois High school and played football, I have two sons that went to Atherton, but didn't play football, they played soccer. I'm anxious to get CoachJ's take on this. He has always stated that Ballard would play Trinity for as long as he is the coach there as they need to beat the best to be the best. Perhaps he got a different set of orders from an administrator.

 

That's what I heard. I also know, next year won't be one of Ballard's best.

Isn't it great; the only teams that schools who won't schedule Trinity are hurting is themselves and it boosts the Rock program!!!!!!!

 

I have to admit, sometimes I get tired of Highlands and Trinity's success, but when I hear all the excuses- i become a huge Bird-Rock fan!!!!
