Yes, they choose the school, in our system they can choose to go anywhere they want, getting in Male/Manual has guidelines. To stay there same issues.

 

No, a child can leave his Cluster, the only drawback no busses, except for Manual.

 

But if they don't make a choice then they are assigned to a school. Want to bet on the percentage of students that "chose" Iroquois while 100% chose Male

It wasn't. Those bleachers were relocated to Southern when Durrett closed. The stadium was completely rebuilt when Male relocated.

I didn't ask for no PMs so if you want to send one go ahead. I personally have nothing against Male but after spending almost 15 years in JCPS working at one of the "lesser" schools I find it absurd that anyone thinks all JCPS schools are created equal.

I also have traveled in my job to the Cincinnati area. Highlands too. My son played at Southern/FC/Seneca/Butler/Prp/ home field was Moore as a eight grader last year. J-Town little leaugue (Skyview Park) was actually better than a lot of these.

 

Remember, a child can pick Male but they might not get in. Most kids who play for Fern Creek are from the West End, we do their FCA meetings for them.

When did you not have an advantage? I am sure there were times (i.e before title IX and a few others) but at the least when since the 90s have you not had an advantage?

And there's the great difference. That's what separates Male and Manual from the rest. 100% of their student body made a conscience decision to go there.

 

FWIW If a kid applies to Trinity and pays his tuition he gets in.

But I'm quite sure that every player spanning the entire border of Jefferson County, Shelby County, Bullitt County, Oldham County, and of course, Indiana, is at Trinity because they just wanted to go to school there. After all, isn't that the "archdiocese of Louisville" boundaries? Or are there more counties? And it looks from the Friday night programs that the archdiocese now extends to the Baptist faith as well. What a joke!! Good to see the public schools finally have some guts and quite playing them!

RP, remember my comment "walk in my shoes" I have been on both sides, I played on soft ball teams that rarely lost, we played other church teams that never ever beat us. We just played and won kinda like the Rocks over the years. I also coached a womans team at my wife's work and for two years got run ruled every game. if the Rocks record against the pubs wasn't so lopsided do you think we would have these conversations?

 

Your team has done whats it supposed to do. Compete at a high level, but there is also a human side to that, and thats what you are facing now and from now on.

You know people when teams don't want to play you when:

 

(A) Your team has 9 games on the schedule

 

or

 

(B) Your team has the same team twice on the schedule

I have to admit, that's funny right there! I was actually thinking about you History when the other poster wrote about teams having to play only nin-game seasons or play an opponent twice in a season.

 

This year's Trinity schedule is surely the most difficult ever played in the history of KY prep football, at least on paper. It will be very interesting to see how Trinity does record-wise. The only thing I would be worried about as a Trinity fan is the injury situation... KY teams are not accustomed to playing first-rate competition every week of the season, with no "easy" games on the schedule. Not only is Trinity taking on some outstanding out-of-state teams, but the Shamrocks have now been placed in the 6A "super district" with Male, Manual and St. X... surely this is the most challenging district in the history of KY prep football. Trinity literally has no "easy" games in 2011. It will be interesting to see whether playing this kind of a schedule takes any kind of physical/mental toll on the team. If it doesn't, look out!!!

From your past history, I'm guessing Trinity and Highlands right. I don't know for Trinity, but I have never heard anyone in the HHS administration "boo hoo" about teams not scheduling. Now, I said "I have never heard anyone", so don't jump me if "you" have heard some HHS Administrator say this, but not to my knowledge. People may discuss but I don't think it's "boo hoo" ing. I mean seriously, "boo hoo"ing. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Now that's funny.

I agree jbwill..Trinity has an awesome schedule. Highlands certainly upgraded for 2011 too!! Hopefully both can claim state titles again and continue their winning ways.
