February 2, 201115 yr First let me preface this post by stating how dumb I feel for asking this. Now, here's the thing. I will have been dating my girlfriend for just a shade under 4 months when V-Day occurs (the 18th is our four month) and I'm not a real romantic person. I like to take her out to nice dinners and what not but don't have a clue when it comes to gifts. To make matters worse I'll be having surgery on the 11th and the doctor says I'll be feeling rough for about a week so I won't be able to take her out or anything like that. Does anyone have any gift suggestions other than the simple box of chocolates and flowers? I feel bad that I'll be laid up in bed and can't take her out so while without breaking the bank or going overboard, I'd like to be able to make up for that as well.
February 2, 201115 yr Just get her some flowers, I know you said other than that but it's easy and girls like them. Make it easy on yourself. You guys have only been dating for 4 months so you don't really wanna go all out on jewerly or something like that.
February 2, 201115 yr I think going out on Valentine's day is a bad play anyway. Get her an "edible arrangement" or flowers with a thoughtful card, maybe even send them to her home or work, and invite her over to watch a cheesy rom-com and order take-out (I'm assuming you're too laid up to cook for her). Unless she's soulless she's going to understand you're recovering, feel sorry for you, and thus she'll doubly appreciate the effort.
February 2, 201115 yr Mrs. S wants Farm Cash. So I'll get her that and a card. My father lives with us and just got out of the hospital. He requires help to do almost everything right now. In fact, I'm working from home, so I can assist him until he gets most of his strength back. Mrs. S is helping, but she can't carry him. I can, though. My sister will watch him for us, so we can go out, if she can. Otherwise we'll have Bruno's Italiano brought in and we'll have a candle light dinner right here at the house. Mrs. S is OK with that.
February 2, 201115 yr I have a new g/f of a month, who hates flowers and doesn't like mushy.... I have no clue what to do assuming were still together lol.
February 2, 201115 yr I did this for my girl friend later wife. I sent her flowers to where she worked. There were several ladies who worked in the office with her, so she was real happy when the flower guy called out her name. Later after her lunch I sent more flowers on the same day. Now, watch out you will become a special guy real quick so make sure you care for her. Since you cannot get around real good, you might not be able to do this but she also had a card on her windshield every day for a week. I could had my pick of any woman in her office. :idunno:
February 2, 201115 yr Best Valentine's I've ever had was a simply cooking dinner for the young lady. I've kinda been hanging out with a new girl lately and debating on doing something small for her...probably will do something small. The thought that counts.
February 2, 201115 yr Dinner (preferrably cooked by you) and a romantic movie is a fail-proof cheap way to go.

You only want to do something Small and it is the thought that counts??? Must not like her too much ?
February 2, 201115 yr Tell her you are not doing anything because it's the second most ridiculous "holiday" on the calendar, next to Sweetest Day. If you can't show me how you feel the other 364 days of the year then I don't want anything to do with you, and vice-versa.
February 2, 201115 yr A well made mix-cd with some good songs. Make it a little more than "these are some songs I like". Go for something like "these are songs that remind me of you" or "these are songs that I associate with things we've done". Putting together a cd case insert with some liner notes you've written isn't a bad idea for it either.
February 2, 201115 yr Get her some flower's invite her over and cook for her one evening before your surgery. Women love to be pampered every now and then. JD
February 2, 201115 yr I recommend that you DON"T tell her you created a thread on BGP's requesting suggestions on what to do........:sssh: That could be a very big potential downfall..... Good Luck.....
February 2, 201115 yr If you're looking to drop some money, you can't go wrong with a Day Spa package.
