2011 - 10th Region Tournament Structure

So what does all of that have to do with the fact that Mason County places their studnets behind visiting teams benches?
Just win baby, just win:thumb:

Off the subject, but do the Clark County players still wear my name,'All In' on their warmups, think someone should be writing me a check:irked::D

To be honest if 10th region fans are cheering for who always represents the 10th the best in the State Tournament and always has when they go, the answer is by far Mason County or even Maysville if you want to throw them in. How far did Clark County get with a Preston Knowles team when they went a few years ago? I think the years Mason County has gone they had the best team in the region, except for the last two years when Clark County couldn't seal the deal either in Northern Kentucky or at the Fieldhouse. Who won the region when it was at Montgomery County, I forget? And as sick as I am of Mason County(they do seal the deal wherever, so anyone has to at least admire that) have grown more sick of Clark County because they have done less with more than even Scott County over the years. Respect is earned. I will sing their praises when they have any, but win the region and the state first, two things they should have done or could have done over the last 3 years. Off soapbox now:walk:

I can appreciate and respect what you have just written; however that doesn't address the issues that have been trending over the past 53 posts. There should be a fair and balanced contest played on the floor, as well as a fair and balanced arrangements for fans. This includes placements of students where they can be part of the game, but not influence where they degrade the spirit of contest (as well as themselves).

I believe for there to be peace in Clark Co, that GRC will have to win. No matter where the region is held this year But there should be a level playing field that gives no advantage to any one team. Play the contest in a nuetral arena, cause every teams that plays in Mason County is already climbing up hill.

And for the record.......... I love Popcorn at the Fieldhouse.

They have changed it to something else........ I will see about getting you a royalty check for the unauthorized use of "All In" :D

The passion of the 10th region is tough to top.

I'm a 9th region guy who wishes we had a place like the Fieldhouse to hold the tourney. I realize many like the amenities of the BOK but it pales in comparison to a place like MC's Fieldhouse when it comes to atmosphere which IMO is what it should be about. KY high school ball has survived for decades with a team hosting the tourney at their place. It doesn't seem to have caused a problem then. It shouldn't now.

Didn't the tenth play at the BOK and everyone hated it?

Not everyone.

So, you don't think the 10th should rotate the host site? I do agree that the field house is an awesome facility, but I just think that come tourney time the playing "field" should be leveled as much as possible.

Loved it! Mason Cnty fans hated it because they couldn't place their students behind the opposing teams bench! LOL

Clyde, What would everyone in the 9th say if the Cov Cath students sat right behind the Highlands bench during the Regional finals? Imagine the players sitting their during the game having to take the constant taunts and not to mention unable to hear their coach during timeouts as the students are purposely yelling so the opposing team can't hear? Do you think they would love it or would their be complaints?

If you go back and read that thread it was mostly Mason Co fans complaining. No complaints from Clark Co fans.I loved that you had assigned seats. Didn't have to worry about getting there early if you already had your ticket.( good thing, because I was involved in a wreck on the way up to the finals) Plenty of seats. All teams and fans treated equal. Great facility...what is not to like.

In the early years of the Fieldhouse, Mason fans did set on the other side. It was changed a few years back. And there is no way they will let Clark fans sit in Mason's section. It just ain't going to happen but if Mason draws Visitors and wears blue then we should be on the other side and other bench.

This is the root of all the discussion. Run the tourney the way it is supposed to be run. It shouldn't matter if it is a Clark Co. Harrison Co, Scott or Deming fan/team. It is the responsibility of the Mason Co/tourney directors to see that this happens because they are the hosts. This is the 10th Region tourney....for all teams/fans. All we want is to be treated fair...then play ball and enjoy the one of the best experiences in high school basketball.
