Thank you royals 101 – you answered the question. I’ve already admitted that Mason Co. had the best teams in 2008, 2009 & 2010 and obviously won the games on the floor. You admitted that for the last 43 of 46 years Mason Co. has enjoyed the home court advantage by playing the regional games at the fieldhouse. Now, all Mason Co. officials have to do is what the non-Mason Co. folks have suggested through-out this post. Eliminate as much of the ‘home court advantage’ as you can, and it will be a near-perfect tournament. However, to be fair, when it is other teams years to host, they will host at their venue – and I’m sure they will do everything they can to eliminate their ‘home court advantage’.

Bottom line the best team will win and Mason Co has done that the last three years.

 

I've got it, you've got it, we've all got it. Mason got the job done all three years. Is this mantra the only rebuttal you have. AGAIN who has won or who will win has nothing to do with the fact that Mason County goes above and beyond to get all the extra home court advantage they can get.

 

And now let me go ahead and reply to my own post for you. "MASON WON ALL THREE YEARS IN THREE DIFFERENT GYMS AND CLARK DIDN'T."

In tournaments I have been to I would say the best team win. I don't think you can take anything from any of the teams. I do agree with all the posts complaining about how the managers have run things at the field house. If you want it fixed call your high school principal and superintendent and tell them to call the administrators at Mason co and complain. They are the ones really in charge not the AD. Try it I bet it works.

I agree with X and O's, if you have a complaint call your administration at your school. They are the only ones that can bring these questions and concerns to meetings and drawings. I am not quite sure they value the opinions of posters on these threads and their opinions. Otherwise, enjoy the popcorn, and the atmosphere of the 10th Region tournament at the Fieldhouse. I also read in another posters comments about Masons fans behind the home teams bench, which Clark County didn't have to choose that bench. In my opinion, that was just another mistake Humphry made on that night.

Clark Co didn't choose that bench, it was assigned by the drawings, they were the home team. The mistake was that the Mason Co adm./Toruney Directors didn't make Mason Co cheering section move to the visitors, side where by the drawing, they should have been.

I honestly think both sides were at fault. Both schools could have easily prevented the problem but both were apparently too stubborn/prideful to give in. While it would have been much easier for Clark to change benches than for all of Mason's fans to switch to a different side than normal, 95% of Mason's fans would have been glad to go to the other side if that was where we were told to go. Nearly all of us Mason fans want the tournament to be the best and most fair possible. This includes sitting on the away and home side based on the brackets as drawn. Truthfully, I think it is ridiculous that our normal "home" side is behind the benches when the best and most unobstructed seats are on the other side. I know the reason behind it but it still doesn't make it right.

What is the reason? I know the first year the Arena was open the home side was where the benches and scorers table are, but after that the home side is now on the other side. And although our student section is on the same end as the visitors bench, they are on the side away from the visitors bench.

Coach Feldhaus changed the home side to what it is now because he wanted Mason Countys fans on the same side as the Royals locker room to help prevent harrassment of our team by the other teams fans as the team went to the locker room.
