2011 - 10th Region Tournament Structure

Featured Replies

I'll be the first to say you have a 1st class facility there now and i don't have a problem with you guys hosting when it's the 40th Districts time...

So what's the issue with rotating sites then? If Montgomery Co is 1st Class, the Bank of Kentucky center is definitely 1st Class, and we have the high and mighty Field House so what's the issue again? Solve the student/fan section issue at the Field House [and update the concessions to more than popcorn] and rotate sites .....man.....sounds pretty simple to me......but then again...I ain't no rocket scientist......:0)

I can tell you this for certain the vote for the format was 100% by the Athletic Directors at last Friday's Meeting. There was a lot of discussion but the format last year worked for everyone especially financially. Even all the schools that didn't make the event got a share

Also the 10th Region does rotate the host site, at least the right to choose. Two years ago it was at NKU because the 37th District Ad's chose that. Last year the 38th District Chose to play at the Fieldhouse. This year the 39th (Mason's District) picked the Fieldhouse. I would bet that next year when the 40th picks it will be at Montgomery Co. In 2013 the 37th District is already making plans to play at NKU. The girl's also rotate and NKU may host that when it's the 37th Districts turn again

So are u saying thats the only reason we won the game last year was because of the placement of where the fans sit?Im reading it that way because thats really all i keep seeing,Lol...

No not at all. I thought Mason Cnty had a really good team last year and they proved it! What I'm TRYING to say is Mason Cnty (or the tourney director) needs to do a better job running the 10th Region tournament. I've also stated that its a joke if people think the Fieldhouse is better than BOK center and that Montgomery Cnty is not a viable option to host the tournament. You can't take anything away from Mason County's program, one of the tops in the state.

I have also said that its not a neutral site when Mason has such advantages. The regional tournaments should be treated as neutral sites. If some fans (as they have stated on here) or administrators say 'no way, its our home court and this is the way it is" well they should not host.

I think gold sunrise and bluenation 12 should be named co-tournament directors. Move the tournament to Augusta so I can eat some Sams Club chicken wings, meatballs, good nachos, and get to set up on Robins stage to eat and rub my belly. So we know all of this is not going to happen but sure sounds nice.

How about Mason Co/tourney directors run the 10th Regional tourney the way it is supposed to be run and not like the Mason Co Invitational....Problem solved.:thumb:

Man oh man people crying all the time on here. What happens if GRC gets beat this year? Will the popcorn be too salty? The price to get in too high? This is the bottom line if Clark Co would find a way to win the region this talk is not happening.

They have changed it to something else........ I will see about getting you a royalty check for the unauthorized use of "All In" :D

I can appreciate and respect what you have just written; however that doesn't address the issues that have been trending over the past 53 posts. There should be a fair and balanced contest played on the floor, as well as a fair and balanced arrangements for fans. This includes placements of students where they can be part of the game, but not influence where they degrade the spirit of contest (as well as themselves).

I believe for there to be peace in Clark Co, that GRC will have to win. No matter where the region is held this year But there should be a level playing field that gives no advantage to any one team. Play the contest in a nuetral arena, cause every teams that plays in Mason County is already climbing up hill.

And for the record.......... I love Popcorn at the Fieldhouse.

Once again how much more level playing field does all of the other 10 region teams need, MASON COUNTY HAS WON AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY,NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND THE FIELDHOUSE:deadhorse:

Montgomery Co & NKU - No disputes.

Fieldhouse -will always dispute because the field is not level nor is their an equal and balanced environment for other teams.

But the popcorn is better in Montgomery Co

The same for every team and fan....that is not the way it is run now. No more, no less...just the same.

I thought the popcorn was quite good last year.

Why do everytime I post I have an attitude? Is it because I am from Mason County. All I am saying wherever the section for Clark, Mason, Harrison, Montgomery etc is designated for student section that is where they will sit. Nothing more, nothing less. No attitude and if Mason draws visitor Mason should sit on the other side.

It is not about whether GRC wins or loses or any other team for that matter. It's that Mason goes out of their way to make sure they get their statement that it is their home court and their advantage. Sumoroyal understands but please don't exile this brave voice of reason.
