Is the Fieldhouse a Home Court for Mason County during the Regional Tourney?

 

When Mason County host the Regional Tourney, do they get to practice on the fieldhouse floor during the morning or afternoons or on off days for them during the tourney?

When Mason County host the Regional Tourney, do their fans get to sit in the same seats as the regular season games, even if they are the visiting team?If any of the questions are answered "yes" then the Fieldhouse is not a neutral site but another Home game for Mason County.

NO to the first two questions and as for the last question, if you want those seats get your butts there early and beat them to it, sort of like festival seating:idunno:

And this wasn't the Vandy setup. Both benches were in the stage endzone when I played. Mason County was on the side of the backboard closest to the scorers table with the other team on the opposite side of the backboard. The visitors had to cross in front of the Royals bench to get to the scorers table. And of course in the second half the visitors court was at the other end of the floor.

I remember this also and was wondering if any Royals posters can say for sure when this ended and the reason for it?. Bracken County used to have the same set up in their old high school gym if remember right.

Last years Regional final pictures........could you ask for anything better? Of course it was a great game too.

I think you are wrong. For the regional tourney they have cheering sections for teams marked. I have never saw Mason fans moved to the opposite side of the floor. Of course you can sit anywhere you want to, but the sides are marked. I have been going to MC since it was built and its kind of like church seating. The Mason fans have their spots and you shouldn't sit in them.

In the early years of the Fieldhouse, Mason fans did set on the other side. It was changed a few years back. And there is no way they will let Clark fans sit in Mason's section. It just ain't going to happen but if Mason draws Visitors and wears blue then we should be on the other side and other bench.

I guess we can appreciate your honesty on the seating. I always get there anywhere from an hour to an hour half early to get decent parking and seating but there are always Mason fans on the first few rows on the GRC side. But I can handle that because the early bird gets the best seats. I do disagree with the students behind the visitors bench. It just seems to be asking for trouble and someday something serious may happen. Why take the risk? I have always thought the students should be put in the opposite end zones and there wouldn't be any issues. But all one hears is that the stage seats are "just to horrible to be used that way." Though no one seems to mind usng them for the general public.

 

Oh well we only have 6 more weeks for this thread and similar ones so things I am sure will get more heated as we get closer and by the way the popcorn at the Fieldhouse isn't all that great.

It must be just after New Year's. Folks are crying about the 10th Region Tournament.

No teams should have any "home court" advantages plain and simple....what's so difficult about making that right?

Bingo!!!! Then that is why the Region should be moved to an alternate site. This attitude is aparently prevelant with the tourney director as well. That being the case, don't complain because every other school in the Region doesn't like the way you run things. Your decision so deal with the complaints and consequences when others want it moved.

To be honest if 10th region fans are cheering for who always represents the 10th the best in the State Tournament and always has when they go, the answer is by far Mason County or even Maysville if you want to throw them in. How far did Clark County get with a Preston Knowles team when they went a few years ago? I think the years Mason County has gone they had the best team in the region,except for the last two years when Clark County couldn't seal the deal either in Northern Kentucky or at the Fieldhouse. Who won the region when it was at Montgomery County, I forget? And as sick as I am of Mason County(they do seal the deal wherever, so anyone has to at least admire that) have grown more sick of Clark County because they have done less with more than even Scott County over the years. Respect is earned. I will sing their praises when they have any, but win the region and the state first, two things they should have done or could have done over the last 3 years. Muddawg I think if you aren't from Mason County then it makes sense. Mason Cnty has apparently had a scam going on that no other team in the state has... and thats placing their students behind the opposing teams benches during regional tournaments. I just hope all the 10th region coaches band together and say enough!

So what does all of that have to do with the fact that Mason County places their studnets behind visiting teams benches?
