Things you've had for an unusually long time

Featured Replies

As a general rule I'm not loose with my money so I tend to hold onto things if they do not need to be replaced. However, I was thinking recently that I may have taken it to a new level with my microwave.

I've had it for almost 24 years. Seems unusually long.

Anyone?

Could a mod help me out and change the title to "an unusually long time?"

I've had my golf clubs for 27 years and my wife for 19.

I had the same wallet for ten years and my wife bought me a new one about six months ago. I also kept some things from my teen/childhood years. Other things I have are baseball/football/basketball cards, some Kenner Star War toys, my T-ball shirt from when I played that my mother held on to, and more. One more thing that I still have is an original Michael Jackson picture disc Thriller album that still has the Children's Palace toystore pricetag on it.

My wife... 30 years..

My DVD player....14 years. Just upgraded to a PS3 for blu-ray purposes, but still have the reliable old thing. Best $50 investment I've ever made.

a snow thrower -30 years.

My TV's are deeper than they are wide--why won't they break so I can justify new ones?

I have the same predicament.

Over half of my hair - 68 years.

My wife. Dated for 6 years and married for 30. Together since Middle School.

Well done, my man. Well done.

I have my original DVD player as well. Probably about the same age. It has endured some painful drops but it keeps ticking. Really the features of a DVD have not changed since it's beginning.

I've had the same 4 pocket handkerchiefs for at least 10 years now. ...man those things could use a run through the wash now.

I've got a Notre Dame Starter coat that I've had for about 18 years. It's been my outdoor work coat for at least the last 10 years. It has taken a beating and is still in good shape except for some stains. I also have a FSU sweatshirt from the Charlie Ward days that is also cold weather work apparel. I also have my long sleeve baseball undershirts that are about 15 years old that are again, cold weather work apparel. I'm very stingy with my money when it comes to clothes.

I too have my original DVD player. I bought it when they first bacame popular. I am so waiting for my TV to go on the blink, so a new LCD can be mounted on the wall, and change my service over to high def. :bunny:

Anybody know what the average life span is on a big screen TV? Mine is around 20 years old. I fell in love when I seen the one Mr. Gatti's Pizza had and just had to have one.

I also have a CD player/Radio that I bought for my wife when we were dating, so it is 20-25 yrs old. Still works great.

I have a TV that is over 25 yrs old, Zenith, works like a charm, but takes a bit to warm up.

I have a refrigerator in our cabin that has to be at least 50 yrs old and probably more like 60. Crosley Shelvinator. Replaced the seals/gaskets a couple years ago. Runs like clockwork.
