Did CovCath fire one of their coaches?

I am hearing there are some restless natives again in Park Hills (could it be the PHM?) and as a result someone got the axe?

Anyone?

I am starting to think they are always restless in Park Hills glad I moved out of their a few years ago.

Since the Park Hills Mafia isn't even real, why is there any need to bring it up?

I feel I need to defend the mythical Park Hills Mafia. In the 3 major sports, those being Baseball, Football and Basketball since 1976 there has been one head coach fired. That is 105 coaching years. Krumps has been there since 1976, Coach Ray was there for 30 years, George Schneider retired as well as Coach Tieman. Coach Listerman has been the head coach for 10 years. Rodenberg left on his own. It's generally a pretty safe job. I dare anyone to come up with another school with that kind of continuity.

Let's hear your Indepence Mafia record since 1976.

So have you heard anything or not?

I haven't heard anything either, and I'd have to say, IF they did fire one of their coaches, it would assuredly have to be because of something completely un-connected to the football program. I know that the schools administration and staff, as well as the athletic boosters were all happy with the football coaching staff.

After retiring as head coach, Coach Ray returned to Cov. Cath. as an assistant coach and is expected to do so again next year. After retiring as head coach, Coach Tieman returned as an assistant coach and retired just last year. After retiring as head coach, Coach Schneider remained a member of the Cov. Cath faculty for years (he was assistant principal when I attended CCH) and has a permanent spot one row behind Mr. Kaelin (who has also been at Cov. Cath. for more than 35 years) at the Cov. Cath. scorer's table. Coach Listerman has been coaching basketball (assistant and head coach) at Cov. Cath. since the 1970's. If you attend the next home football or basketball game, you will likely have the chance to say hi and shake hands with all of the above. :thumb:

Well I haven't heard anything over in these parts, but will let you know if I do. Being planted right in the middle, I have a few that like to talk. Oh, and for all that don't believe in the PHM, think again. LOL!!! It's really funny, because my wife was at a "prom to dawn" meeting across the way from CCH and even the MOMs were talking "Mafia". Of course mine just sat and listened. You know, since she has no connection to that "Mafia".

That is impressive!

And to show how little influence the supposed PHM has EVERY ONE Of the coaches listed above has had parents who were dissatisfied and complained about the coaches. Coach Ray had his critics (still does). Coach Krumps has his critics (still does). Coach L is in the same boat.

Since it wasn't even the main point of the thread, you seem a little sensitive; I guess as a member, you would be!

As far as I know only one coach has been fired at Covington Catholic. That seems like a pretty good track record. Coach Brossart seemed like a good football guy but he had a bad staff especially on the defensive side of the ball. When you hire friends who are unqualified you sometimes pay the price. It may have worked at Finneytown but you have to have a good staff and Coach B didn't. In the games I attended there was no coaching going on the sidelines when the defense came off of the field. They just got a pat on the helmet. I actually liked the offense they ran in the games I watched.

Coach Wirth needs to make sure he has the best staff or he might end up with issues.
