As far as I know only one coach has been fired at Covington Catholic. That seems like a pretty good track record. Coach Brossart seemed like a good football guy but he had a bad staff especially on the defensive side of the ball. When you hire friends who are unqualified you sometimes pay the price. It may have worked at Finneytown but you have to have a good staff and Coach B didn't. In the games I attended there was no coaching going on the sidelines when the defense came off of the field. They just got a pat on the helmet. I actually liked the offense they ran in the games I watched.

 

Coach Wirth needs to make sure he has the best staff or he might end up with issues.

In all seriousness though, if there is any truth to the fact that indeed "a" coach has been fired then this is too bad imo. CovCath deserves better and when I say CovCath I mean the kids not the fans, or the alumn or the PHM. Not sure if the current staff as a whole is "perfect" but the administration must build on what they have now and its pretty decent imo right now. Move on people, besides the 8th grade class is looking real good and some say it might be the best ever. Keep working hard Blueboys.

Not quite so true. Ryle made headlines when their OC changes occured, and several other High Schools have been the topic of talk when coaching changes occour. It's just that CCH seems to be a sensitive subject to some and it gets blown way out porportion. What's the big deal? If a coach was fired, hire another one and move on.
