If CovCath felt they needed to fire a coach to improve their football program, good for them.

 

As for all the talk and back and forth about the PHM, if there are a group of supporters that feel strongly about CovCath football and they used their influence to get actions taken that they believe will improve the football program, good for those supporters.

 

I get a chuckle when I read threads about how such and such school can improve it's football programs. In addition to the improving the youth leagues, one of the most commonly stated things that need to happen is that the community must get involved and support the program.

 

Then I read in other threads how terrible it is that certain people in the community interfere in the football program.

 

You can't have it both ways.

 

Either the community and supporters are to care and get involved or they aren't. You can't chide people into getting involved financially and with their time, but then tell them they have to blindly set by and accept things that they think are wrong with the program. I'm not talking about second guessing why a coach runs this or that play or doesn't play this Johnny more than that Joe. But if the strong supporters of a program see fundamental problems with a program, they should take action. The football program does not belong to a coach. The coach is just the steward of it while he is the coach. If you want the community to get involved, then you have to accept that it's the community's program in part and that the community will have some input on matters. It's the coaches job to force the community to understand what he is doing and why he's doing it. It's the community's job to limit its interference except to fundamental problems.

 

If I'm a CovCath supporter, I'd welcome the PHM label; not deny it or run from it. From my vantage point, it's a compliment that there are a group of people strongly interested and concerned about CovCath football. I'm not necessarily condoning or complimenting every action that the members of the PHM may have taken however which is a different issue.

 

Perhaps all that the PHM needs is a good "Principal" to keep em all in line. LOL. 20n10

It takes a strong principal to deal with some of the students around here, that's for sure.

I heard it was some defensive coach.

Found out yesterday by asking the AD, also found out that CovCath will be playing in week -0- of the season. Funny what you can find out if you just ask the right people and they trust you!

No not at all! I did what I suggested you to do and that is to call and talk to either the Coach or the AD. I spoke to the AD and got my answer! Anyone could do the same thing I did! It's not a secret, in fact a friend of mine told me the other day that he spoke to Coach Wirth at Barleycorns last Friday and he found out!

TOG, if you know the facts and want to end this thread, do yourself and the school a favor and tell us. Otherwise this will go on and on. If it is true, the truth will be known sooner rather than latter anyway. What better person to relay the facts in a respectful manner than you?
