January 6, 201115 yr I respectfully disagree. That look can be pulled off well and is good for casual dress Friday, imo. I'm with you on that — I'll occasionally go this route when I'm feeling like "dressing up" when I go to Keeneland.
January 7, 201115 yr Okay, I did an unscientific survey at Frisch's this evening of the guys wearing jeans. About 50% were wearing tennis shoes and the other half were wearing boots, "hiking" shoes, Rockport-type shoes, etc. One guy was wearing black cuffed dress pants with white tennis shoes. Not the best look in the restaurant.

Casual dress Fridays were deployed the last few months before I retired from the local CMHC. Even so, I never could bring myself to wear jeans to the office. Khakis and a golf shirt were as casual as I could comfortably be.
January 7, 201115 yr I can't stand when people wear a sport coat with jeans. It drives me crazy. Men's Wearhouse in Florence actually pulled together about 15 looks with a sports coat last summer. I think it looks great on the right person.

January 10, 201115 yr See, I don't get the dress shoes with jeans thing. It seems to me that's kind of trying to make jeans out to be nicer than what they really are. If you're going to wear dress shoes, wear dress pants. Soemone on ESPN this morning said that the Cardinals were spending a ton of money on Larry Fitzgerald. "Like putting chrome rims on a Yugo". Kinda the same thing.
January 10, 201115 yr A few repeats but my list of some things that drive me nuts.... - Ties that are too long - Ties that are too short - Cartoon, Logo, or any other novelty ties (seriously get rid of them!) - Hoodies with jeans and nice shoes (you are not dressed up) - White socks - Nice shirt, nice pants, and nice shoes topped off with a ball cap.
