Winds are picking up and the snow is really blowing alot now, going to be hard from the road crews to keep the roads cleared.

Driving back to Lexington was awful. I really had no choice but to leave around 7:45 pm and it was easily some of the worst driving conditions I've been in. The roads were all ice topped with snow and they were barely plowed or salted, if at all. The freezing rain coming down the entire way made it torture. I was seriously surprised I made it home without a wreck.

Absolutely beautiful out there this morning. Just got back in after shoveling snow and cleaning cars at the house and in-laws for two hours plus. Probably an exercise in futility with a light snow coming down and wind blowing the snow around, but I enjoy the peacefulness of the morning and shoveling snow (plus it makes it easier to rationalize the pizza I had late last night).

I did the same thing this morning , and I measured our snowfall . I had between 2.875 t0 3.125 inches on the ground .

Just got done doing snow removal for a condo complex in Independence. We've been at it since 4 am and I'm beat right now. The tough part was the snow drifts. I did a few driveways with maybe an inch on them but then because of the way the wind was blowing I'd then have to do 6 driveways with about 6-8 inches on them. Ripped the croch out of my jeans a little past the half way point so I had a nice draft going on. Now I'm going to try to get some sleep, I'm supposed to be at work at 11 but don't see that happening, and I have a final exam tonight at 6. Talk about a long day.

Went out and swept the van off this morning and measured the snow. We have 7 inches of the white stuff where I live in Owsley County.

First good snowfall of the year.

No but it did remind me of an episode of Seinfeld where George had a situation take place due to the cold. I just didn't have much of an audience, thank god.
