Congratulations to Boyle on the win and Allen for playing an excellent game as well. This is by far the best game of the day and may be one of the better games of the whole weekend.

Way to go Boyle Co! You played an amazing game to seal the win. Hats off to Allen as well. They played a tough game, but could not take advantage of turnovers or 2nd qtr chances.

People have been saying for the last 3 years that the 4A semi-final from the east was the real state championship... and for 3 years the winner of that game has won the title. So, the statements werent that incorrect.

How do ACS and Boyle compare to Mayfield and NCC?

 

I think all four teams are pretty similar...

So am I to believe that if the winner came from the west that it would be warranted to say that the real state championship occurred the week before in the western semifinal?

 

It's not enough that the winner of that game wins in the state title game, you have to be able to walk away with a definitive belief that the loser of the previous game in the east would also have won. And I don't believe you can definitively believe that here.

 

If you need it to be phrased in a way where it is that incorrect, the perception has been for those years that the east winner would have a walk over in the final game, thus rendering the real championship the week before. And in those three years, the east winner has had a real dogfight on their hands.

I've got to imagine that's a record for a final that wasn't played between two Louisville schools in Louisville.
