Hopefully people realilze that behavior doesn't represent the football program's attitude. While it's great that FC brought a bunch of fans and people are excited about football again, some seem to just be there because that's what everyone else is doing, not necessarily a true fan or someone who actually watches the game.

Well said YSTICK! However ,I am just glad to see some people in the stands at our games! When my oldest son started playing there four years ago, no one stayed past halftime except the players parents. Now they stay, actually watch and maybe learn a little.Regardless, we need their money at the gate!

I thought it was agianst KHSAA rules for the band to play during live action on the field? All night long FC drummers played somthing or just beat on them!!! If not agianst the rules it is very rude!! IMO!!!

Regardless, we need their money at the gate!

So you want fans at the game regardless of what kind of image they send out that represents your school?

Congrats to HHS on a great win and a continuation of a great tradition, hope we can see you again next year and execute better, Coach better, and win.

"It looked to me that the FC boyz were not nearly as in shape as the HHS boyz. "

The FC boys might have been lacking the muscular stature of some of the HHS players but as far as comparing their conditioning you should probably realize FC played about 17 or 18 kids the whole, game, I think they were in great shape to do that. Good Job FC you have came a long way! But......... never be satisified.

Thanks oldone for the congrats. And congrats to your boys also. They did have a great season and while I am sure they are disappointed, they will come to realize they had a great season. There's no shame losing to the Birds on their home field. I was very impressed with the your team. The qb was very calm, the o line did a great job pass blocking and the receivers ran great routes. I think fatigue had more to do with the second half differential than anything and it was not because they were out of shape; it was because of Dale's coaching philosophy.

Few people give Dale the credit for developing the two platoon system that he has. I can't think of a AAA program that does it better, although I am disappointed to see that Rodenburg knows what Dale knows. Dale starts developing the two platoon system early in the year. At the Beechwood scrimmage, I happened to be standing next to someone who will remain nameless (but he started this site!) and all he could do was talk about how unimpressed he was with the Birds and what a long season it was going to be for the Birds (and don't you dare try to say otherwise). What he failed to recognize were all the players Dale was getting playing time while Yeagle stuck with his top 17 or so players. Dale continued to do that against Male in the scrimmage and against all the regular game opponents including Colerain, X and DeSales. Yes we took a whipping and yes we could have been more competitive if we had kept our best players on the field in those games, but those games don't count in the playoff competition and playing only the best 17 or so players was not going to get the young and talented sophomores and juniors seasoned and ready for the playoffs. Dale knows that depth wins close games, especially when you are playing teams that don't have it, like Boyle in last year's state game and FC last week.

To the FC players, you played your hearts out and congratulations to you.To the seniors on the team, hold your heads high. You had a great run. To the underclassmen, work your tails off and we hope to see you again next year.

Thanks for the compliments Leatherneck.

As for the comments about our fans lighten up, you guys got 6 or 7 bucks a pop for everyone of them that walked throught the gates, I also think they all bought a hot dog or two. If you had to listen to the band, and our fans were too loud; get over it. remember there are no rules against the band and kids being loud at games or during half time. Our fans our kinda like taking your kids to the movies for the first time, they are not sure of how to act. Remember it has been a while since we were 10-1 and in the second round they were excited. I would like to say thanks to all of the fc faithful that came to Ft, Thomas to cheer on the flyers.

What a great attitude! Now I see why the FC fans were so rude!

Correct, there are no rules. However, they leave it up to the school to figure out what's classy and what's not.

Guys what does the school have to do with how they act? That is all I am trying to say, the school really has no way to control or prevent this kind of behavior. Thier behavior is not the greatest but it is in no way the view of the school, administration and especially not the football program.

I was close to the sidelines and heard a few comments from HHS fans to individual kids, and coaches that were very disrespectful and off color, but that is part of football an unfortunate part I agree; But I have heard those same types of comments for 3 years at HHS from their fans. You don't hear any FCHS fan complaining about those comments.

First of all, our comments weren't directed at the team.

As for the comments you supposedly heard, it's possible; but I would put our fans up against any other school in the world when it comes to class and respectful behavior.

First of all, to say nothing can be done is ridiculous. There's supposed to be a school administrator there and you would think they'd be standing near the student section. Is there a band director? Shirley they would know better than to play as the school's doing a trinute to the first soccer state championship ever. We're not talking about what the students said (besides their display of displeasure on a particular call), we're talking about when they decided to cheer the loudest.

Students do and say things that we wish they wouldn't at every school. What you hope for is an administration that can try to keep them under control.

One thing that we can almost guarantee is that you won't see an HHS student in front of the other student section taunting them. The administration will not allow it.

When a band and a student section attend an event to represent their school that is just what they are doing is representing and YES it is the responsibility of the school (principle, super, etc.) to make sure they behave in a reasonable manner. Yes people make comments, and you can't control every unreasonable fan, however when your band and student section continue to chant and play when Highlands was honoring the State Champion soccer team, that is just wrong. The band would't play pep music during the National Anthem and they wouldn't play pep music while the opposing team's band is playing during half time and They should not have played during the soccer tribute. This is where your principle gets with the band director and says that was rude and unacceptable behavior and will never happen again.

So YES it is the Admin. responsibility.

Let's not get to knit pickey. As long a they don't go over board let the kids be just that and have fun.

On a more important note, way to go Birds let's keep the ball rollin. Will tickets be pre-sold this week at the high school?

As for the comments about our fans lighten up, you guys got 6 or 7 bucks a pop for everyone of them that walked throught the gates,

You meant to say that the KHSAA got the 6 or 7 bucks.......right?

You meant to say that the KHSAA got the 6 or 7 bucks.......right?

Nope, not at all- both schools split the gate after expenses.

I'm sure there were students on both sides saying things that could be seen as out of line, and yes administrators are supposed to be there to monitor that behavior. Unfortunately, many times the worst behavior comes from parents or other adults and not the students. While students may chant and boo and make some gestures that don't show the utmost sportsmanship, I think adult fans are far, far worse with their comments and actions. Those are the ones that are hard to control with a school administrator.

So you want fans at the game regardless of what kind of image they send out that represents your school?

Unfortunately at Franklin county we have a school board that is apathetic to it's schools sports, very little community support, and have to scratch for every dime just to put uniforms on our kids. If not for a few hard working boosters we could't even do that. If you had ever seen our facilities you would know why I made that comment! If our community was as dedicated as our players and coaches We could be as "selective" as you guys.By the way have you ever seen the behavior of UK fans? :irked:
