Well I always get black beans at Chipotle, never pinto. No pinto.

We call them soup beans. A big piece of cornbread and a onion and that is a mighty fine meal!!

Chipotle needs to offer refried beans, as neither black nor pinto cut it on a burrito.

I call them soup beans most of the time. I also love the great northern/white beans just as well and maybe better. When the Ramblers are going to have beans and cornbread we will say soup beans and then decide on pinto(brown) or great northern (white).

Up this way, I don't think we eat them in the way they're pictured above. If you add more soup (and ham or bacon) to it, we'd call it bean soup -- for which I have a severe craving now, with all of this talk about cornbread!

In Owsley County they are soup beans. I think that's what most of eastern Kentucky calls them.
