Would Mayfield have a legit shot at the 2A and 3A crowns this year?

mcpapa pointed this out and I think he makes a good point.

Anyone?

I think they absolutely would have a shot at both. 3A has gotten the rap of being the worst class but I think this year, except for Newport Central Catholic, 2A looks to be the weakest class.

I certainly couldn't argue against it.

How do you figure when a lot of 2a schools are whipping 3a schools, But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do think Mayfield could beat almost anyone in the state, not just 2a and 3a....

There were many times I thought Beechwood was the best team in the state, so why not all classes.

I have my doubts about 2A as a whole as well. Holy Cross having wins over two teams in the 2A top 10 (BGP) helped those thoughts enter my mind.

They should have a excellent shot at 2 and 3A. We have been waiting for this team for several years. last year was a pleasant suprise and most of that team is back. The key is the Cards QB who does not get the credit he deserves. He makes the offense hum and they have a solid group of recievers, linemen and backs. I also want to tell all of you to take not of soph Jonathan Jackson, he may turn out to be the best player Mayfield has produced in the last 20 years

So G you appear to be bored again

It is funny that a week ago we were down to a 1 win Graves County team at half and had to go to overtime to win the week before. Mayfield's opponets combined have only managed to win 7 games all year. But, make no mistake, this is a very good football team, how good remains to be seen. This type thread is not really what I want our players reading as this type stuff can lead to them thinking they are it and forgetting there is alot of football to be played and the playoffs are on the road in places that are so far from home that they seem like they are in a different country

Certainly good enough to be the 3A champion last year, 2A would have been more difficult with Fort Campbell in this end of the state. This year, yes in 2A with no dominant team emerging quite yet. 3A, I think Paducah is every bit as good as Mayfield and if they had their game to play over again Tilghman would have done some things different... especially in the overtime period. I think these two would meet in the playoffs for a regional final with the winner going on to a 3A championship.

Central might have somthing to bring to the table this time

Perhaps, but I hope Central has stepped it up another notch from last year because I think the Tornado certainly has.

Mayfield may be good enough to beat Highlands .... you just never know.

They are the class of single A... and maybe the class of the entire state.

Basically end of story.

They are the best team in the lower three classes.
