Two points_ Can anyone show the love for previously undefeated Male? They aren't Cincy St X but still a pretty good team under new Coach Wolfe. I have heard Coach Redman being dogged for his coaching. Given just that fact, wouldn't a competent coach make Male better?

 

Second, Coach Beatty is too good of coach to be worried about last year. Every dog has his day. Coach Glaser is currently Top Dog.

Actually, jimmyref, I think Coach Wolfe already has the current Male team performing at an "overachiever level" given the talent he has to coach. The biggest improvement they have made over past years is dumping that suicidal defense so that they are no longer giving up so many big plays. It's a lot harder for teams to score on the Bulldogs now since they are forcing you to piece together 10+ play drives to get points on the board.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but how is Coach Glaser carrying an umbrella being disrespectful of Trinity... I don't get it. I understand a broom being offensive, but an umbrella???

 

In 2006 the regular season game was stopped in the 1st quarter with Trinity leading 10-0 because of a huge thunder storm. It was not able to be completed and Trinity (by KHSAA ruling) was declared the winner of the game. The following year at the conclusion of the regular season game (that X won) Glaser the Godly One did a Gene Kelly "Singing in the Rain" act with an umbrella at midfield. If I'm not mistaken the rematch that year didn't work out so good for him

Seriously, do you really think this Trinity team is better than the 1988 Trinity team or the 2002 Trinity team? Based on what? I recall Trinity beating Elder by several scores on a neutral field back in 2002, and that Elder team won the rest of their games that year and was the Ohio D-I champ. Also, Trinity beat an outstanding (and nationally ranked at the time) Male team in the title game; that Male team (which won all the rest of their games that season) was arguably the best KY team not to win a title. 2002 Trinity had quite a resume. I'm not exactly sure what you could point to this year that would surpass T's accomplishments in 2002.

 

Given this team has a bunch of sophomores on it, perhaps the debate about T's best team of all time should be put on hold and re-visited in 2012 (unless the Mayan calendar is right and we're all dead by then! :cry:).

Who's to say they aren't? Presumably the X posters have seen X play a few times, and they maintain X is horrible this year. Take the X guys at their word; they have no reason to lie or sandbag on a high school message board filled with anonymous posters.

They are still 3-1 with a loss to a powerful Cincy X team. They have been missing their starting running backs and they have a solid defense.

 

No, they don't appear to be as talented as Trinity this year, but I think the game will be less than a 7 point spread. And as I stated earlier either on this post or another, they have to be superior to really have a shot to win as the system they run requires superior size and strength(which they don't appear to possess?) and does not allow for mistakes.

Ox-You are right. We can't compete with them this year, and apparently the next 2. Maybe we can play our seniors in the JV game and win at least one of the 3 games...or should we play them in the frosh game? Game experience and developement you know.

What you see is what you get with Coach Beatty, he does not hide from who he is, unlike Coach Glaser who is just waiting to act like a child as he has done several times in the past few years. Tipping his hat , sweeping the broom, waving across the field, just a class act. He sure dosen't need to act like that he has a very class school and program behind him. It seems that getting beaten by Trinity and Coach Beatty at so many Championship Games seems to have gotten to him. The T & X game is always going to be fairly close, no matter who has the better team.

Maybe we can play our seniors in the JV game and win at least one of the 3 games...

That way, you'll avoid having to watch Trinity get out the brooms!
