You have to forgive A. he get's way carried away.............and anything at all he can do to "pump us up" -- he will. He has developed into one of our staunchest supporters.

 

No supporter here Jim, just study and observation. You should not need me to "pump you up". This talented team unlike any other Trinity team in the past should be able to do it for you. The Bombers are a real tough Ohio team but they have not faced a team like they will see in St. Matthews on Friday night.

St. X does a great job running the ball offensively and defensively they are pretty solid at every position. Very rarely will you see St. X in a high scoring game, for the simple fact that their defense is so fundamentally sound.

 

Stephen Daniels is a very good LB/DL for the Bombers and he will be all over the field. Kid is so athletic they even line him up at Db at times.

 

Offensively, Connor Hundley is a hard-nosed down hill runner that is only about 5'9-5'10 but extremely strong and tough to bring down. His legs are constantly moving even after contact which is why he picks up so many extra yards.

 

I'd say the Bombers are a run first, pass second type of team. They also have a tremendous coaching staff.

There is no question that this Rock edition is extremely talented and skilled. We thank you for you observation and candor. WE hope there are tremendous things in store for them as long as they continue to work hard; prepare, follow their coaches instructions, etc.

 

But - it is way way too early to place that 'BEST EVER' tag upon them. While I absolutely respect your f-ball knowledge and acumen - you must admit - such a claim cannot be made at this juncture. To do so strains credulity - and I would not want anyone to make such an accusation against you.

I doubt this will be a close game at all. St. X-Cincy has too many weapons. I see Trinity scoring a few offensive touchdowns, but look in the mirror and Trinity will see more players with their speed and unreal size to go with it. I would love to see Travis Wright (Trinity's QB) have another great outing but Cincy X will be in his face more often and will not let him get away from them.

 

Cincinnati X:#4-One of the best High School Backs I have seen. Runs behind his pads and his blockers well. Is patient and will gash Trinity's D

#36-Tight End-goes about 6'3" and has speed and downfield blocking skills. Does not go down easy. YAC champion.

Offenseive Line- I know Elder was big, and so is this team, just big and fast.

Defensive Line-I think they are all Big-Time D1 prospects and again big and fast.

#8 Linebacker-Freaky.

#11 Linebacker-Freaky and Great Kicker

DB's-All tall and quick and fast.

 

Lastly, they both run similar offenses, therfore nothing that either team has not seen. St. X has too many weapons. Trinity has the Home Field Advantage so lets say Trinity 21 Cincy X-37

X is always going to have a great defense. To hold Louisville X to 74 yards is unheard of. Probably the lowest output in 30 years for St. X.

 

Specht does a great job with his scheme and the kids are sure tacklers. Is X a senior laden team?

Cool stats! There's no way this game ISN'T close, in my opinion. I realize T is the underdog, but in a close game one or two plays going the right way for T could be enough to pull the upset. If T wins it, they'd surely be a lock for getting ranked nationally next week.

Actually think Cincy X will win but I would have to believe that they can't be quite of the stature described or they would be 3-0 and not 2-1 with a comeback win against Indy Cathedral. Granted the competition was excellent but they are not unbeatable.

I look for T's coaches to come up with ways to get the ball in Quick's hands more than what has happened in the last few games. While not exactly the case, one could argue that Quick has been a decoy or at least a player who is essentially occupying 2 defenders. To beat C-X, I think Mr. Quick has to do some damage to the Bombers. T's return teams are much improved and maybe a long return can be broken. Actually, T's run defense has been playing better than their pass D, IMO. I think T can score some (barring a severe case of sophomore-itis) on C-X. My concern is whether they can keep X from scoring a lot. Early forecast is for clear skies and a high of aout 80 for Friday. I'm really lookinf forward to the match.

While I truly believe our boys can win, I firmly feel that they have to play mistake free ball. Can they do it? Yes. Will they? Not sure. They are very young, but have been battle tested. At worst, I look for the Rocks to make it a very exciting game. Outcome. No tellin'.

I think they may have been sitting behind me...

Conor Hundley #4 has a lot of power but he also glides like Shaun Alexander did. He is avery deceptive and a joy to watch if you have no rooting interest. Steven Daniels #8 is a tremendous linebacker/defender, he covers the entire field. Duggans #10 has a powerful leg, he usually kicks off into the endzone, negating any type of return. He is also a fabulous defensive back. Trinity could be facing a long field through out the game and must considtently make first downs against this defense to prevail. They play aggressive team defense....quite a test for the young Rocks. Cincy St. X 31 - Rocks 21.
