Very briefly, we don't "pick" our boys. They pick us. Your argument can sometimes hold water when things aren't being compared apples to apples. Jefferson County is open enrollment. Our tuition is in excess of $9,000, if you qualify for the max financial aid (given by an independent third party), at most, you qualify for half. I ask you this, which is less expensive, free or $4,500+?

 

But Trinity can choose who comes to their school too. That is where the whole private public debate comes in. But this is still beyond the original debate. This happens after they boys have chosen their school or the school has chosen them. They have around 1400 boys. Money ok yeah, but thats another debate. I agree people could look at that either way, but you are trying to change the debate. The debate is whether or not enrollment helps a team. I say that enrollment makes a big difference.

 

You were right on when say its hard to argue apples to apples when one school has so many more students than the smallest school in the same classification. That is why I said it should be interesting to see when Trinity plays a school of similar size.

I was referring to the money factor and how much it can cost to go there. But again thats not the debate. We are talking about #'s after the students are in school. Whether it's Trinity's fault or not, they have more students and more students usually means more wins. I am not looking for you to say, what should Trinity have less students? No, I simply stated that it is an advantage to have more students.

I ask you this, which is less expensive, free or $4,500+?

I as you believe that every student should go to the school that they deem is best for them, whether public or private. If they want to go to public they can . However, I feel that public should have the same recruiting tools that the private schools have.
