Enes Kanter received more than $100,000 in cash and benefits...

I have no problem with the NCAA taking their time making a decision on the Kanter case. they need to get this one right as it will set a standard for incoming foreign players.

I do find it hard to believe that no time table has been set for the decision.

Even if Kanter is cleared by the NCAA, he (and Kentucky) would not be immunized if later evidence is uncovered that he accepted $$ to play professionally. The allegation that he was paid 100K did not come from an anonymous source on a blog post but rather from the general manager of Fenerbahce Ulker.

Bledsoe was cleared to play by the NCAA but if the recently concluded investigation had disclosed Parker High School fudged his grades, Kentucky would have faced NCAA discipline.

The down side is having victories taken away, loss of scholarships, probation, etc.

Flotsam, UK would be fine these incidents happen overseas before we ever had anything to do with him! However, we r just waiting for them to clear him to play and that's the bottom line!

The NCAA didn't start an in-depth investigation of Bledsoe (or Rose for that matter) until after he had already played for UK, while they are conducting the Kanter investigation before he ever steps on the court. They'll be able to uncover all the information they need to make a decision beforehand. The only way they could find new information after the season is if it's being intentionally kept from them now. While that could potentially happen, I can't imagine the NCAA would hold UK accountable for that.

I hate to ask this but in your alls opinion do u guys think we will have to go deep in the season before Kanter is told yea or nay regarding him being able to play this year for the CATS!

No, it will come soon. :thumb:

I hope it's soon. Even if it's sorry you can't play, just get it over with so the team can move forward.

Its not like they're going to get more info. The Turkish team has given everything they have (to prove he was paid), and the Kanter's have given everything they have (or say they have) to prove it was only expenses.

Make a decision already. Its ridiculous at this point.

I agree! Duke, Louisvile, & UNC are paying thE NCAA to drag this out! lol Just Kidding! lol rofl

Go Big Blue!

Decision could take months, hopefully, it doesn't.

It already has

I hope we know something on Kanter before UK's first real game!

A lot of legal-speak in this, but this is a blog entry from the NCAA's website. Article is dated Nov. 4, 2010 & speaks directly to the issue of European recruiting. Some are saying this is a PR move by the NCAA preparing for a Kanter clearing. Of course, the "some" who are saying that are UK fans...

I mean't months from now even though the season has basically begun. The NCAA will take all the time they need, they need to get it right the first time and bury it.
