While a competitive games between Covington Catholic and Ryle is good for all of N.Ky, I sense this year will not be as competitive as I would like. Raiders 42, Blue Colonels 20.

Ryle's challenge is to not look at the Cooper scrimmage and get overconfident. I've heard that even some of the coaches are saying the Cooper scrimmage tells them they can win by a lot. If that overconfidence gets to the players it could be a problem.

Don't know who is going to win, but if Ryle can't beat CovCath, then forget about beating Highlands.

Well, what about this... there's been a ton of talk about Ryle being the team to end Highlands' run of dominance over NKY teams, and they play each other the following week. Might Ryle be looking ahead to their game with Highlands? Could CovCath make them pay for this? It sounds like Ryle's offense will be potent this year... perhaps Ryle holds some things back offensively against CovCath in preparation for next week, thereby giving CovCath a better chance of pulling off the upset?

I can understand what you're thinking, and I can't speak for the Ryle players in particular, but knowing what I do of Bryson, and knowing Mike Woolf (Cov Cath grad) and Bob Fey (former Cov Cath coach), I can tell you that the coaching staff at Ryle won't be overlooking the Colonels.

This is very true. I know they have been talking about CovCath since they resumed practice after the dead period. First things first. Don't come to play and go home embarrassed.

Ryle is the second best team in NKY.. I think Elliott will run all over them..JMO

 

 

I agree Elliott will do a lot of damage. Don't forget about Ryle's QB, he can run over a few guys too. Saw it first hand last week.

Another option to live listeners would be those who listen after the game ends. The game is available on covcathiradio out of the archive as soon as the live broadcast concludes. Fans at the game will listen when they get home from Nippert. I will be one of the non-live listeners tomorrow night. I plan on tuning in after I get back home from witnessing Andre Smith continue his journey to Canton.
