Was Caesar Geronimo busy or something?

Now see, that's funny...

Thought it was a strange move at first, but after seeing off days on Thursday and Monday they only need 4 starters until the middle of the Arizona series and Wood could be recalled by then...

Here is my thoughts on what might happen. I still think Francisco gets sent down either today or tomorrow, and we'll see Chapman called up. I think Leake will be DL'd sometime after tonight's game with some ailment so the Reds can limit his innings, and then the Reds can recall Wood before 10 days due to an injury. I also think we'll see Bailey recalled, and Fisher sent back down.

Hmmm...You may be on to something....

Good move. The Reds front office is running this team right now with intensity, like every game is a must win. That flows right into the clubhouse.

Esp If Leake has another rough outing. If he does, then he is DL'd, Bailey takes his spot - and then Wood is back in 10 days when we need a fifth starter.

Has anyone heard any timetable on Orlando C ????

Wood has thrown way more innings than Leake I would be worried about his innings as well.

How many innings did Wood throw last year?

Wood's also familiar with pitching professionally....I thought I heard somewhere that Wood was to be limited to roughly 200 total innings.

But you never hear them talk about having to limit Woods innings, so my guess is that there is not the concern. How many innings did Wood pitch last year? That is what they seem to base the concern on Leake on. I think I have heard the forula something like last years innings, plus 30%.

167 2/3

Combined he's got 149 this year. Leake has 126 going into tonight.

I like the move. Winners are winners and I would put Edmonds in that category. Dickerson has some potential but as many have said he was not in the future plans.

I like the move. As some have alluded to, Dickerson was not in the future plans. This is a WIN NOW move, and I like it a lot. Jim Edmonds is a professional and hopefully will have a positive influence on the clubhouse, much like Scott Rolen did. He will also be able to platoon with Heisey & be replaced in late innings by Stubbs, so hopefully he can stay healthy.

Wood's next scheduled start was August 18th. That has been pushed back to August 19th. At first glance I couldn't believe that Wood was sent down, but it makes sense now. I knew that Wood's innings were getting up there & was aware that he would need to be on some type of structured schedule, but I didn't anticipate him being in L'ville. He's scheduled to make 1 start down in AAA.

Cabrera has said that he's fine & will be ready to go as soon as he's eligible to come off of the DL...

I love the fact that Jim Edmonds is on the team I just didn't necessarily want to let go of Dickerson.
