UKMustangFan
This move also gives them the ability to give two out of the three (Rolen, Phillips, and Votto) big "guns" a day off if need be, or if Francisco is kept up, all 3.
Clyde
Dickerson should have been up and playing some in left, in my opinion. Gomes needs some help against righthanders. .266 against righties .286 againt lefties Logical
EZ Living
240 PA's say differently.... If you think he can come here and play everyday @ 40 and post steroid breakdown you are crazy.
the mathemagician
Which leaves you with 1 C. Edmonds will be the #1 option at 1st behind Votto now IMO... If he's not gumming peaches and mush with Larry King at the Seniors' Center first.
Clyde
I like Dickerson but I get the move . The Reds have determined he's not in their plans. Milwaukee thinks he might be a fit for them. Reds get a strong OFer, good lefty, and a good PH.
gametime
I like Dickerson but I get the move . If he spent more than a few hours at a time in the bigs healthy, I would have liked him a lot more...
EZ Living
Dickerson had 0 chance of being an everyday player in Cincy. He was behind Gomes, Bruce, Stubbs, and Heisey. This deal gives them more veteran leadership for the stretch run and a solid bat that can spell all 3 OF positions. That all makes sense but who plays where and who gets sent down. I don't think this makes the defense better and it could mess with the chemistry of this team but if it helps great he is a proven veteran with some playoff experience. EZ Living
It probably will be, although I'm not real thrilled about them keeping 6 OFs on the active roster, and only 1 backup IF. Imo Stubbs has to go down until September.

EZ Living
Stubbs could use the AB's to get right and Votto will hopefully need less time than Rolen or Phillips off. I'm guessing Rolen sits Wednesday if the Reds win tonight or tomorrow. Francisco around isn't a bad thing w/ Rolen getting as many days off as he gets. It's interesting no doubt. I totally agree on this.
Bengals>Steelers
I really didn't think this many people would like the move.
Da champ
I like the move. Dickerson was not in the plans or he would have been back already. Edmonds is a strong clubhouse guy with OCTOBER experience. Jay Bruce could use him in his ear right now. I also think Francisco is best suited right now with his locker and seat on the bench beside Rolen. He can spell Rolen every 3 or 4 days and learn more about fielding being with him than being at Louisville. Stubbs can play for a month in Louisville get his confidence up and with the roll the Bats are on he will still get his fill of playoff baseball. Its all good !! Walt Jocketty is the man.
