No, it's actually quite remarkable, given the perilous struggles you all have overcome to get him where he is today. It's a great achievement, and you all have much to be proud of.

I hope he is able to find a job. After I graduated, I quickly discovered that school was the easy part, finding employment was more difficult. I really wish employers put more stock into people with degrees.

Thanks everyone! It was a really special day and weekend! He finished college with a 3.4 GPA, which I think is pretty awesome. He was .04 from 3.5. But...we're still pretty happy.

 

Awesome! What degree did he attain?

 

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Business. He just changed his post-graduate plans a couple of weeks ago after a long soul searching period. He is switching from his PhD program in Physical Therapy, to earning his Masters in Health Services Administration. He'll finish that and graduate NEXT may with his Masters, and his then-wife will graduate at the same time with her Masters in Education.

 

An interesting thing for him, when he decided to switch his post graduate plans, he found out that he had several credits toward his Masters in Health Services Administration from the business courses he took for his minor. So, his advisor has put him into some sort of credit program, where he'll research and write a paper in the fall semester, then attend a convention in the spring semester and present his paper, and have it published. It's sort of an independent study thing. Sounds really interesting. It helps him get his 36 hours for the Masters without taking other classes he doesn't really need.

 

Another big May next year!
