No way Ryle throws the ball this coming year as much as last year. No matter how many offers Hempel gets from D1 colleges and the amount of lipservice the Ryle faithful believe. They will ride Elliot as far as he can take them and occasionally throw in a slant, fade, or stick route to try and keep defenses some what honest.

 

I agree 100% Most of thr Ryle coaching staff think PASS is a four letter word. :clap:

SK on defense lost their 2 best lbs, Brown and Kaiser, Safety- Simpson, DL- Piccirilo, Hansel, Deason, Hiedrich, and Hiles. That is just on defense.

 

On offense they lost their whole offensive line and best player Simpson.

 

They have a lot to replace. That is the reason for a lot of doubters on this board.

 

We will see how well Lawrence does when he is the main focus of the defense and with an inexperienced line in front of him.

I really don't understand ukfan36's staements of hoe they wil be better this year, than last year. I guess it's OK to speak with your heart, but I'd rather listen to people like you doubledeuce that speak from knowledge. Miles was a special type of running back and will be hard to replace.

If the son is clearly the best QB, it should be no problem. If there are clearly others better than him, then it is a big problem. At a program with the history success of Boone County, if the team doesn't win with the son at QB, it is a HUGE problem. There will be enormous pressure to win on father and son.

I don't know that I agree with this. Certainly a Boone QB generally has less overall value than most QB's due to the type of offense they run. But whether or not he throws 2 passes a game or 42 passes a game, if the position was handed to him without a legitimate and meaningful competition, I would think this would turn off quite a few players, parents, and fans. Not saying this has happened - I don't really know - but if it has, that is a shame.
