Summer Ball

I agree you if Team Ky gets their big men back. A few post players that will add to the bench giving them fresh legs will be huge. Only having 2 subs they wore down in later games. The Truth only lost to DSAS by 4 and had 2 technicals that possibly cost them that game. Finals Club Ohio vs. DSAS. All the top local teams minus Shinning Stars were at the Knights tournament. Wow I got to see alot of great players and teams. DSAS, Truth, Showtime, XBA, Dayton Flyers, Team Ky, Club Ohio etc. Looking forward to seeing these teams plus Shining Stars next week end at UC. Congrats to the players and teams great week-end in Northern Kentucky for U17 basketball.

Team KY advanced today and played The Truth, Team KY jumped out to an early lead, then the game was back and forth for the rest of the game, and The Truth ended up winning by about 3 or 4. The Truth is a very long team and they have a couple of excellent shooters from the 3.

Jeff Whitton from Clark Co did a great job! He is leading the team in drawing charges, about 4 a game! He has a really nice shot, and was going up against 6-7 and 6-9 players in the paint and was able to score. Look for him to a lot more PT on the varsity level next year.

Jaylen Daniel did well again today, as did Charlie Rogers, and Jake Handshoe from Montgomery Co is a really nice shooter and is able to play really good D.

Tyler Fangman had another good day, knocking down 3's and playing hard-nosed D.

Team KY only had 7 players today, as Zack Perkins was out do to a minor ankle issue, but will be back next week.

Sounds like a great tournament. The only team missing was the NKY Bulldogs who were representing NKY very well in Knoxville. They knocked off some very talented national teams to go 3 - 0 in pool play and only lost by a single point in the sweet 16 to an extremely big and talented Augusta Power team from Georgia. They will also be playing in the Bearcat Classic next weekend.

Good to hear the local boys are playing well. I truely love this time of year. I know it has it's critics, but I am a huge fan of the AAU ball. Where else can you see so much talent on one court game after game. Good luck to everyone next weekend.

The NKY Bulldogs finished pool play at 3 - 0 with double digit wins over Jacksonville Nets and Columbia Hoyas. The Bulldogs were led by Bobby Stauffer, Jacob Flesch, Chris Hayes, Jack Stewart, and Todd Vollet.

Good to hear that Hayes is playing summer ball this year.

I said it in the middle of this past season and I'll say it again... Chris has the chance to be one of the best guards in the area this coming season.

Very athletic, nice handles, quick, and flat out gets after it on defense. I watched him rebound with Pittman and the Johnson Brothers all year. He plays hard at all times.

Chris Hayes had a very nice tournament and has been a pleasant addition to the NKY Bulldogs.

The Cincinnati Knights tourney is this Saturday and Sunday at Midwest Hoops (formerly Sportsville and Sports of All Sorts) in Florence. The 17U starts at 4 PM on Saturday.

How did the Cinci Knights tourney end up, anyone know who won in each grade/age? I saw some games Saturday at the Ohio site and saw some good teams.

All I know is that Club Ohio won the 17u.

Honestly have not heard too much about that team sorry. No disrespect intended. So they are local? So why travel to Knoxville with great competition right here in NKY? Must have a great sponsor.:thumb:

No disrespect taken, but as far as local talent at the U17 level, I believe the NKY Bulldogs to be one of the best. As far as travel goes, this tournament was booked before the Knights tournament was announced or the Bulldogs would have been there. They did it last year and finished really well.

What about the Truth teams? Anyone know much about them? They we're all very athletic.

Good to know. Please keep me updated on how he and the Bulldogs do in the future. Thanks in advance.

I was reading the schedules for the AAU qualifier this weekend and I saw the NKY Rhinos listed in the U17 pool. Does anyone know who these guys are?

They have a roster on their website at http://www.nkyrhinos.com. The only one I know about is Travis Davis from Gallatin County. He is a very good point guard.

Zeke Pike is playing with the SSS-Downs team.

I like Zeke's post game. Strong under the basket.

How many 3's did Fangman knock down? Sounds like a lot according to the post.
