I'm not a Clark County friend, but I think in the next alignment geography will most likely beat tradition. There just aren't enough schools to make things even.

 

Well, I hate to see some traditions die. But at some point I guess geography has to be taken into consideration. In the case of the 10th, there are teams nearly 120 miles apart. Time is money and gas is money, I suppose.

Region 13 (17)

District 49 – Clay County, Jackson County, Oneida Baptist Institute, Owsley County, Rockcastle County

District 50 – North Laurel, South Laurel, Whitley County, Williamsburg

District 51 – Barbourville, Corbin, Knox Central, Lynn Camp

District 52 – Bell County, Middlesboro, Pineville, Red Bird

 

 

I personally would LOVE this because in all reality, Rockcastle County is a 13th Region team....at least to me they are. Since the move to the 47th District and the 12th Region, something just doesn't feel right. I know the district games are a lot closer now, but being someone who likes tradition, I prefer the 13th Region.

 

The rivalries between Rock and Clay, Jackson, Knox Central, Corbin and Bell County were amazing but now they're all but gone.

I've noticed that a few of the models have Clark County moving from the 10th to the 11th; which is something we've heard discussed before (although I don't know how much stock to take in these discussions).

 

What do my Clark County friends think about this? Is Clark County more closely aligned with the 11th, or should "10th region tradition" trump geography?

 

 

Hey they may want to move us to the 7th region, we have played 8 teams from that region this year and only 7 from the 10th.:lol:

If the alignment is done like it was last time you can look and see the people who are on the board of control and their respecitve schools or areas get favorable alignments.

Clinton and Russell WILL be moved to the 12th. Right it down.

I am sure that will make the Mason faithful very happy if GRC moves out. Better be careful what you wish for...:sssh:

The 14th region is spread half way across the state. You have Estill and Powell County located almost in central Kentucky and you have Jenkins located on the Border in eastern KY. Jenkins and LCC would benefit by going to the 15th region, or Powell and Estill would benefit in the 11th region.

I forget the school, but there was a board of control member from the 12 region who fought really hard to get the Laurel schools out of the 12th region and into the 13th region. There were several examples where board of control members' schools and areas got a better situation than before, but I can't remember all of them.

I'm looking at who was on the Board of Control four years ago, and I don't see who all these schools are that got better situations.

 

If you're going to make the accusation, have some facts to back it up.
