Any rumors on region realignment for the future?

Harlan County is OK with moving, so that makes a lot of sense. Harlan County plays in the same district in football with 14th schools and in track and cross country, too, I think. Harlan County teams have played just about everyone in the 14th over the past few years in something.

Harlan County borders Perry, Letcher and Leslie counties. The road isn't great but it has improved and more improvements are on the way near the Letcher line.

As far as geography is concerned the 14th would be a much better fit for them IMO.

I'd like to see the 11th broke up some too. Maybe send the Madison Co. schools to the 12th or send Franklin Co. schools to the 8th. Or some how split it down the middle. They could move the the 43rd district to the 12th region and maybe move Danville's district out of the 12th along with Rockastle. Just a thought.

I think the most likely move will be the three Franklin county schools moving into the 8th. I don't believe Fayette county will be split and I can't see the four Madison county schools being shipped out of the 11th. You could see Clark, Bourbon, and Paris coming in, or perhaps some other combination.

I hope they bring Scott back to the 9th region. Some of those long drives are rough to make on school nights, and I'm sure some of the 10th region teams feel the same way.

I think you're more likely to see some more of the 9th move into the 10th. Maybe all of the Campbell County schools. I could see Campbell county making up two districts, with Mason/Bracken/Harrison/Pendleton/Nicholas, etc. making up the other two.

Not sure there enough CC teams to make up two districts since on the girls side, Silver Grove has not always fielded a team and the KHSAA has shied away from creating situations that leaves 3 team districts.

Geographically speaking, if Somerset Christian fields a team for KHSAA competition. the 47th district should be Pulaski Co., Somerset Christian, Somerset and Southwestern. These 4 schools are all separated by about 5 miles. There are not 4 schools in the state this close to each other. Why put them in separate districts?

Actually, I believe there are a few. I know for a fact the entire 36th District is within five miles and maybe even the 35th.
