February 17, 201016 yr It really seems to me like Bledsoe has not progressed a whole lot this season like I thought he would have. I know he is still a freshman, but this late into the season he shouldn't be playing like a freshman still. There really is no excuse for him to get beat on defense so badly. He should be one of our best o the ball defenders. But at this point I feel like he hurts us more than helps us. Constantly letting his man around him. Remember when Dykes was talking about "Guard your yard" for MSU??? I felt lke that applied more for Bledsoe. I guess I'm just down on the kid because I fell like he can put out a better effort. I may get blasted here but I really don't see this team going as far as the Elite 8 with the way they ar playing. They are just not a very good disciplined defensive basketball team. With that said, go Cats! Beat Vandy! This is the time of year that these things happen and people get down on teams. Syracuse should have lost two home games in a row. Kansas has struggled w/ some teams but won. Villanova got beat at home by a team UC just got done embarassing. GTown has a few bad losses. It happens every year at this time. I'll take their talent level and take my chances when the tourney starts.
February 17, 201016 yr At this point Miller isn't doing a whole lot. Obviously Dodson is much more of a deep threat and Liggins is giving everything he has on defense and just pure hustle. Miller is the odd man out.
February 17, 201016 yr Great game... Too bad the end was marred by the actions of a few. I'm not going to say that the MSU fanbase is classless because I can't judge anyone I don't know, but that doesn't mean that the events of last night and the past couple of days weren't classless and juvenile -- They absolutely were. To speak a bit about the game and Mississippi State's players... The size and athleticism that MSU always seems to have is very impressive. I know that UK is the "tallest team in the country" but MSU has some major size as well, and their wingspans look even longer than that of UK's. It seems like every player off the bench has crazy long arms. If those guys put on some more weight, they'd be scary. UK's front court did a great job of minimizing Varnado's effectiveness last night, which is to be commended. He's not a guy that gets in foul trouble a lot, but they were able to play against him in a way that they were either able to shoot over/around him, or draw a foul. I believe he only had 2 blocks and 5 or so rebounds before ultimately fouling out. They aren't going to win a lot of games when he puts up numbers like that... They need him to be a defensive force. On that note, the final key to the game (IMO) was that Cousins was able to keep from picking up that 5th foul while Varnado could not. Reverse that and the game likely would've went the other way... Thankfully what-if's don't matter. Any time you can win on the road in an environment as hostile as last night, you just have to be thankful. Now UK doesn't really have any time to let up as they have their toughest stretch of the year coming up in the next couple of weeks: @ Vanderbilt South Carolina @ Tennessee @ Georgia Florida Go Big Blue!
February 17, 201016 yr Yeah, I saw it. :ohbrother: It looked like Cousins said "he don't want to shake hands" and the guy shook his head no and was saying something, but the camera cut away from them. I'd have liked to have heard that. My wife caught that too.
February 17, 201016 yr Poor effort by the folks at Mississippi State...no excuse to make phone calls/text messages to players and no excuse to throw things on the court. I changed my avatar to help raise awareness :thumb:
February 17, 201016 yr I would imagine that there will be more reprocussion over the throwing of objects since that one water bottle hit an official last night. The trail official coming up the court took a pretty good bath.
February 17, 201016 yr Calipari was not a happy camper after the game...anyone catch all the sarcasm in his voice during the postgame interview? I thought that was pretty funny...
February 17, 201016 yr Anybody else think Bledsoe traveled on that late layup? Yes I agree. Wasn't even close IMO. There was also another travel that went uncalled, and most people probably didn't catch it because the Miss. State player was simply standing at the top of the key. He took at least 4 steps that I counted, moving his pivot foot two or three times. I couldn't believe the officials didn't cal that.
February 17, 201016 yr Great game for the Big Blue tonight. Love games filled with adversity, and we come out on top. Kept battling and fighting, and the tide finally turned. Predicted a tough "trap" game, but so glad we pulled this one out. Can't wait to kick Vandy's dores in, should be another great road atmosphere with the crazy court setup. Anybody else think Bledsoe traveled on that late layup? He only took 3 steps..................the player from Miss. St took about 5 on his fast break layup, he received the pass at about the 3-point line and shot a layup without a dribble.:lol:Actually, I thought they both walked.
February 17, 201016 yr A complete lack of class for Mississippi State fans. They really showed their true colors tonight. I now will have no respect for the fans after that. Great win by the Cats! Was not pretty but a win is a win...25-1 That was unbelieveable, the SEC should come down hard on Miss.St. to make sure that never ever happens again in any SEC arena I mean throw the book at them. This time of year any conference road win is huge no matter who you are playing.Great job Cats but much to work on.

St took about 5 on his fast break layup, he received the pass at about the 3-point line and shot a layup without a dribble.:lol:Actually, I thought they both walked. That is another walking violation that should have been called. I forgot about that one.
February 17, 201016 yr Calipari was not a happy camper after the game...anyone catch all the sarcasm in his voice during the postgame interview? I thought that was pretty funny... I thought he danced around it pretty well. He had a chance to rip the fans, but let it go as something 'not sure what what was going on'. Than he spoke of the game.
February 17, 201016 yr Calipari was not a happy camper after the game...anyone catch all the sarcasm in his voice during the postgame interview? I thought that was pretty funny... He looked like a volcano about ready to burst, but to his credit, kept his words in check.
