February 12, 201016 yr A league source said Friday that former Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones has agreed to a one-year deal with the Bengals. Jones, a first-round pick in 2005, has struggled with on-field consistency and off-field problems and is trying to make a comeback after sitting out last season. He worked out for the club Thursday with former Ohio State quarterback Todd Boeckman making the throws. Boeckman had been with the Bengals last spring but he, along with former Titans and Cowboys cornerback Pacman Jones, were apparently not offered after the workout. LINK
February 12, 201016 yr The athletic ability is there. But off field issues have kept him 'unfocused' and not meeting his potential. I hope for his sake and the Bengals he can live up to his ability. 6'6" with excellent speed is hard to top IF you can use it.
February 12, 201016 yr Seems like the Bengals just hope and hope that players get into trouble, are released by their team, and vows to have changed just so they can sign whoever it is.
February 12, 201016 yr Must have loved the sight of all the snow on his visit...:thumb: Yeah, probably reminded him of some better days.
February 12, 201016 yr Are the Bengals just trying to get every player with a bad rep in the league right now?
February 12, 201016 yr Heck, if you're going to go and grab up guys that come with baggage, then by all means go after Pacman. There is a guy with some legitimate talent. Even with the cocaine and drinking issues, Jones has never shown to be anything more than a marginal WR.
February 12, 201016 yr Will he be able to keep the website going too? Obviously, I'm kidding by the way. Jones has talent, but I'm not sure if he'll ever produce for the Bengals. Edited February 12, 201016 yr by Wireman

Low salary, so he can be cut if he messes up and Cincy is not worried about thier image, so I don't see much negative to this...
February 12, 201016 yr Cincy trying to be the Raiders of the 70's and 80's...... I would just like to see them as the Bengals of the 90's...
