I've heard that Chad, TO, and Jones would be a heck of a group. I've also heard that Chad would keep TO quiet because the Bengals would be winning among other things.

 

I'm just waiting for the season. The Bengals were lucky this season that Pittsburgh was injured, and didn't have all the pieces they needed. Pitt will fix that this season IMO and the Bengals will only be competing with the Ravens for 2nd place in the division IMO. Believe what you want, history tells me that this will probably be no different.

Jones could end up being a decent third or fourth option.

 

TO would classify has an average #1 receiver but very good #2.

 

FC also says if they get TO, Jones AND draft well then the passing game will be improved, which I agree with. The Bengals had one reliable option last year.

I'm glad you guys have alot of confidence in these guys, I don't though. I don't see how TO is a good move at all. I wasn't aware that the Bengals lost a guy of Polamalu's level of talent. I wasn't aware they even had anyone of that kind of talent. A guy like that makes a huge difference on defense. Who was hurt for the Bengals that would make that kind of difference?

Odom, Rivers, Benson, Henry, R Williams & Crocker... all key starters, all missed key time. Odom would have easily made a push to lead the NFL in sacks.

Take Chris Henry, they chose to ignore his large amount of baggage and give him yet another chance. He didn't put up big numbers but by your own account he made a big difference in the passing game with his ability to stretch the field. However, his personal problems tragically overtook him and did him in. Even if he hadn't have lost his life they Bengals would have been forced to cut him or suspend him and it still would have had the negative impact on their passing game.

Everything I have said is it should make the Bengals passing game much better than last year. How am I wrong on that? Last year they had one guy and one guy alone who could get open and that was Chad, and even he is not as great as he once was. So having guys like that will make the passing game better. Why should us fans not be happy about them at least making the problem better than it was last year. You already know that I would rather them have got Marshall, I have said that on here. However these moves will end up helping them. I never said they will definitely be Super Bowl Champions or all these things. So I don't know why you get all worked up about that. They then would be even more willing to use a first round pick on a TE, instead of possibly reaching for a WR at that pick. So adding Matt Jones, TO, and a possible first round TE on the roster all things that can make it better.

I'm not making an excuse for the Steelers, I have no stock in the Steelers. They aren't my team, and I rarely root for them. But, they had no running game and no Polamalu, they had no shot. Troy is as valuable as a good QB is. Pittsburgh D in 2008? or Pitt D in 2009? Huge loss for them. But I'm sure you used the Carson Palmer was hurt in 2008.......and he's no where near as good as TP is.

Don't go too far out on a limb saying the Steelers will be back next year, everyone knows they will be better than they were last year. Vegas has them as the third favorite to win it all.
