February 6, 201016 yr It's rained all day in Owsley County. Creeks are running very high. We'll probably have more flooding after this.
February 6, 201016 yr The White Death is not even here in full force yet and already our society is beginning to break down! From watching the annoncements across the bottom of the TV screen, I've learned the following: No fellowship or brotherhood meeting tonight. Everyone should only take care of themselves until further notice. "Cold Spring Night" has been cancelled. They will experience perpetual daylight in honor of National Eskimo Appreciation Day. No Saturday activities -- buiding closed. So don't come up here and try to hang out in our empty building. We will prosecute. All Women's activities cancelled. Guys: here's your chance! No Saturday volunteers. Everyone will be conscripted. Saturday's Day of Pampering cancelled. The what? The Wellness Community is closed...and we're all just sick about it. YMCA Black & Latino Achievers are cancelled. Man, they just can't get a break. :irked: Upward Bball cancelled. No dunking or jump shots allowed. All prayer has been cancelled. For God's sake, nobody pray! You'll just make him mad! In some places, only evening prayer is cancelled. In the morning, you can pray all you want. The Lighthouse Food Pantry is closed. Guess you'll just have to eat snow...or, if necessary, the weak. :clap::clap::clap::laugh:
February 6, 201016 yr I hate to say it, but I'd almost rather have had snow than all that dadgum rain today. I had work-related stuff over on the Versailles end of the BG Parkway, but I got about 20 miles into the trip and my car, most notably its electrical system, had other ideas. I wheeled her around and went back home -- fortunately my car made it, and I think that's where it's going to stay until I take it to the shop Tuesday (for an appointment I already had made, but my car didn't want to wait).
February 6, 201016 yr This has to be one of the biggest weather jokes in a long list of never ever getting anything right in summer or winter for Northern Kentucky weather forecasters. How much do these guys get paid for being wrong all the time or are they secretly working for Kroger's?:idunno:
February 6, 201016 yr Steve Horsemeyer on Channel 19 said some front moved in that they did not expect and the inches of accumulation they predicted ain't going to happen. And then the snow we will/did get, will melt and we won't see it on the ground even thought it did technically fall.
February 6, 201016 yr TG Shucks said tonight that there was another snow storm possibility moving into Kentucky late Monday into Tuesday. He said the state will be on the fence once more as to whether we get snow, rain, or a mix.
