Bengals Draft Needs

Featured Replies

I share the DE concerns a lot more than DT. Fanene was the best DE on the team this year (after Odom went down). Geathers had a contract year and that was about it. Looking at Johnson he almost looks more like an OLB. If he adds weight he could be effective though.

Not to many 6-7 260 olb or de for that matter. He is going to be a beast. It is rare for a DE to be able to extend their arms and keep the blockers hands off of them.

Roll your eyes all you want but Carson missed a ton of throws yesterday, like it or not. This is what I'm saying when Bengals fans are overrating Palmer. There are so many more talented quarterbacks in the NFL but not many fans realize it.

That is my main gripe with Bengals fans. Palmer is a solid starting QB IMO, nothing more and nothing less. I couldn't see a team trading for him to be their franchise QB, maybe a team could want him to be a guy who can play a season or two while a young guy is learning though. That scenario wouldn't give the Bengals much in return though IMO, and would be a bad move.

Palmer has turned into qb that cannot win games for you but he sure canlose them for you.

He is a "caretaker" type qb. Every season that goes on he will look more and more like Trent Dilfer.

Not good for the overall #1 draft pick. I'm sure if you told him 8 years ago, how it has turned out for him, he would have told you, that you were crazy.

Dilfer and Palmer are very similar IMO. :thumb:

Of course one big difference...a ring.

Ouch. I'm sure Dilfer would take exception to this:lol:

Yeah but he doesn't seem like he bull charges and TE's or tackles he almost seems like more of a finese guy. On one of those kick returns yesterday he made a TD saving ankle swip. I do agree there is a lot of talent there and he's a rook so it's too early to tell where he will be most effective. But Geathers I don't know.

True, but Carson has never played on a team with anywhere near as good a defense as Dilfer had for his Super Bowl run.

After yesterday, you're probably right .

If he bull rushed he would negate any reach he had but he does need to do it occasionally to mix it up. It will be interesting to see if the Bengals staff can develop him into something special.

Dilfer 70 qb rating over 14 years and just think how awful those Bucs teams were he played for.

Palmer 83 qb rating and just think he does play for the Bengals. Maybe he should get 10% increase based upon the level of franchise he plays for.

Solid starting quarterback? I guess 36 pass attempts for 146 yards is solid
